Well here are a couple observations on the last set of DLLs. I will try these new ones to see what else I can find.

Running in SLI Alternate Frame Mode makes Cloud reflections off the water shift back and forth.

Also when first loading into the game the water turns white for a few seconds then it goes back to perfect mode.

Running Single Card with 169.28 drivers sometimes causes a strange black shadow/reflection in the water. It looks like one of those funeral fires but just the reflection in the water.

Also as someone else mentioned in the 4.09b feedback thread confirmed a flashing light blue on the textures. Its pretty consistant as well.

Here are my specs

EVGA nForce680i SLI Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.2Gig DDR800 2 Nvidia 8800 GT 512 in SLI SB Audigy2zs HOTAS COUGAR Evenstrain 0053 TIR4

LandGeo=3
Perfect Water=2
Special Effects=2

Will the new dll's that we're waiting for replace the old, new dll's in 4.09b or will they be the new dll's for further beta testing while we wait for the new, new dll's that will (hopefully) be in 4.09m?

? redundant questions will get confusing answers.

I just tested them.

The work nicely except:
- No atmospheric haze
- The water is a solid wall of amorphous black
- Just in case anyone missed it: The water is black
- Once more: The water is black

So, will an HQfoam type version be released?
I did like the fancy water...

Note: The black water is an issue with all modern *.dlls (ie. from the first version of 4.09)

Can you be more specific...water is black...from alt? Down low? Some screenshots would help and description of your hardware along with conf.ini

I have an ATI 1900XTX and water looks really nice, better then ever...

I just switched from an ATI 1950 Pro to two 8800GTS for the increased horsepower and the water doesn't look nearly as nice in water=2 as it did with the ATI card. No foam even with effects=2

The performace drop in Water 3 and 4 is too great for very little if any increase in quality.

This is a problem primarily with the ATI 9800 Pro (and perhaps some other older ATI cards). It effects both rivers and oceans and does so at all altitudes. The only exception to this total blackness is the shallow water within a couple of metres of the shore (where the bank shows through).

I hope this helps,

crazyivan,

I really think you should start a new thread for each set of new dll's. Some of the earlier posts in this thread are for the earlier dll's.

People may start getting confused, and since more new dll's are probably coming, the situation will just get worse.

Just my 2 cents. Ignore if I'm being silly...

Aviar
