IMPORTANT: The english translation project is outdated currently from the latest version of Red Sands! Use at your own risk! I need to make changes to how Red Sands English project is being handled before I can continue this project. Sorry for the delays and I'll get to work on making the translation compatible with 1.7(.3) as soon as I can! I'll upload a mirror of Red Sands 1.6 in the meantime.
Red Sands is not my mod. I've worked along others on the translation of it. If you do have any issues or experience glitches or bugs you can post here and I'll see how I can help out.

OUTDATED: Original Red Sands 1.3 Translation Thread

WARNING! Install the Red Sands mod with only a licensed version of the game 1.3.1! (Build 6170 or in our case: Build 6171)
The developers of the Red Sands mod are not responsible for any bugs or errors when installing the patch on a previous or pirated version.
The international sites are blanked out at time of writing so you would have to find a patch download by other means if you do not have the game on a digital download platform (i.e: Steam) that automatically updates it.
Translation:
Download red_sands_translated only, in the attachments on this thread.
Uninstall any previous Red Sands addons. Make sure there is no red_sands folder in the sessions folder of your King's Bounty Crossworlds installation. Since the English version was only made for 1.3 you must uninstall and do a full installation! I cannot assure that previous save games will be compatible with the latest version.
Download the Russian version of Red Sands 1.6. When prompted to install, point it to your King's Bounty: Crossworlds folder (i.e: ...\Program Files (x86)\1C\Kings Bounty Armored Princess\ or ...\steamapps\common\kings bounty armored princess for Steam. Not sure about others).
After that, download the attached red_sands_translated file only, extract it into your ...\kings bounty armored princess\sessions\red_sands folder, and overwrite when prompted.
I've not much time to go and test this out but if any issues come up please post on this thread. Likewise if you have time and want to improve upon the writing let me know either here or in PMs and show you how to get the localization files (they're all included) and then incorporate them. If there are game issues, bugs, suggestions, that you'd like to bring to the actual developers of this mod then please go to the Russian discussion forums. You don't have to post in/translate/know Russian, they can understand English as well.
It looks like there's still some work to be done here and there with rewriting sections, so I'll see how far I can get doing rewriting some of these parts. Feedback and input is welcome.

Latest Translation Update:
2/1/2012: Grimeleven, the RSE mod developer, is back and so he'll be providing the support for RSE. Red Sands was updated to 1.6.1 (http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpost.php?p=386486&postcount=185) (thanks Grimeleven)! However, since it is only the ses file people will not have to EDIT: download anything extra other than the translation file* as this latest translation will include in the 1.6.1 update.
I noticed that some additions were made to certain .lng files. In some cases with the English translation missing these additions (for now), it might appear to freeze up and create an error message behind the game explaining a label is missing. You can then hit retry to continue the game (or just R on your keyboard).
If that happens post it on this thread and I'll fix it ASAP.

It's easy to translate this mod. All file are in one folder.
But :
-You need to know Russian :-P
-And lot of time.
First prerequisites is the major problem. :(
For your mod you should make a localization folder for all .LNG files and put here rus_XXX.lng and eng_XXX.lng.

How is the text organized? I think automatic translation does a good job nowadays, wasn't the fan manual translated that way?
Maybe, much of the text needs only to be copied pasted; let's assume we find enough volunteers who can split the work in several pieces, so maybe we can have an English version which is playable.
Can you tell us some of the features in Red Sands? When we know what we will have as an end product, there might be a bigger chance in finding volunteers.

You see, there are realy lot of text, there humor, sarcasms, jokes and some cultural references. I realy don't think, that google tramslate is cappable to outstand such a task.
As far as i know, literaturic translation of the campaingn costs about 300-350 usds. I guess, my free time costs much more.

Well then.
There about 15 new playable units, 6 unplayable enemy units, which can be met in the very end of the campaign. Each unit can gain expirience in battles, lvl4 rewards for hero. ultra-beholder Asmadeo, which gain exp in battle too and has it's own level-up system with various upgrades. About 30 new items, 5 companions, about 8 new item sets, new race bonuses for each race (like Adrenaline for Orcs in Orc's March). Huge all-new story which is tainted in main story-line (about 10 hrs of gameplay) with various quests (about 15). And this list is not even half fulled...
As i said already, we spent about 7 months to create this masterpiece.

Wow it`s allot of content, i like what i see here.
So you spend 7 months making this, we`ll give you 7 days to translate it to english and release that version for public OR . . . well there is nothing we can actually do but we would appreciate new mod playable in english :-D
And question : how is individual unit exp related to enemy units ? Do they also advance during game, or all enemy stay on 1 lexp vl ? I referred to this in Adventure mod tread, since this `Red Sands` mod for KB looks allot like `In the wake of Gods` mod for Heroes of might & magic 3.

The advance of enemy is mastered by locations difficulty and somehow by your creatures expirience.

Well, it's almost a full add-on, as far as I can see. However, we don't need to translate everything, I think we need to translate only the parts which are an absolut necessity.
So, even if google translate isn't perfect, as long as we can understand the general idea, we can play the game.
I am willing to pay for this mod, I've read about it on the russian forum and it seemes very interesting.

It would be awsome to have this translated, I downloaded the mod, as I figure it wouldnt hurt to at least try and use a online translator to translate it (its a start, and we have to start somwhere) and then once that was done, one of our russian friends could go through and fix up the rest,(I realize that the cultural refs and such would not make sense, but if we dont at least start the translation..) unfourtunatly, I learned that as I have windows 7 home premium, I cant install the russian lang pack unless I upgrade to ultimate edition, but I dont have the money to do so, so the russian lang just is a bunch of symbols on my computer :(

Yes awesome mod so far and i tried to translate it, units and specials mostly but the translators simply messup the code and put "spaces" where it must not, hence breaking the code. Several translators all do the same errors. It worked in part but the info tooltips we're garbage letters because of the spaces. There was LUA errors too (special_hint.lua) related to non-translated mismatched names and info.

Oh, hmm, that's true. I installed the Russian language pack because it's really helpful to have when modding King's Bounty.

@Mandea - there's so much new stuff (new quests, characters, units, items, item sets, companions, locations, whole new race, new race features....), so it's not just mod, it's much more than that, a true expansion and it is amazing to play :)
Your units now gather experience and level-up upgrading their characteristics, but enemy units are leveling and upgrading too, so there's a need for a whole new tactical approach, especially in the early part of the game. Trust me, stack of 200 upgraded Berserkers with +1 speed and initiative can be really scary ;)
@fillyra - unfortunately, at least some basic knowledge of Russian is needed to be of any kinda help, but i appreciate your offer :)
@zini4_tha_grunt - thank you very much, i hope to finish "other" by the end of the week and i'll send it to you right away so you can correct all wrong unit names and some other miss-translations.
I'll try to translate quests too, but like i said it to you before, all new text regarding conversations is a too big bite for me to chew right now and with my "humble" knowledge of both languages in question, it would take me forever to translate it properly, so i hope there are some guys among your team willing to do this part.

I figured since I made the post I ought to give a proper description and introduction to this expansion. I updated the original post with a rough draft of sorts based upon a rough translation of the Red Sands post on Kingsbounty.ru.
Let me know if I should change anything or if I mistranslated something. I'll also edit it sometime in the future to include information from the posts as well as give credit where credit is due when I can get to it.
EDIT: Oops, I'll need to replace screenshots with some better ones I found on the site.

I think that Order of 4 levels refers to medals being able to go up to 4th level.
Your pet can already be called in battle, gain experience e.t.c.. That part refers to some kind of familiar which is either that super-beholder Asmadeo, or something else.

Other than that, you've done a good job translating it. :)

Finaly it`s seems some1 read my posts about giving rune bonuses to other units except rune mage. This should be great mod to play, and no loss is much more chalenging but also awarding :-)
Only wonder this : how does geting more units after geting enough leadeship affect those that you already get at some lvl ? Is it same as was in WoG, sharing all exp to new number of units, or . . . ?

I`m not sure we understood each other. Lets say you have stack of 200 upgraded Berserkers with +1 speed and initiative (that`s some higher lvl i quess) and you get 100 more berserkers. Does new stack 300 berserkers) also have +1 speed and +1 initiative, or they lose some exp due to bigger number of units ? Do you get my point here ?

Hm . . . seems a bit unbalanced. So we take couple units and get them to high lvl, and after that buy all we can cary and all of them will have experiance already. No mater if new troops haven`t fought any battles. Is there any way to distribute gained exp to all troops? Not just ot give exp lvl`s to new units you just bought in castle/shop :-(

It would be strange to be different. You should have upgraded berserkers and normal berserkers in your army at the same time, so you basically waste a slot just to upgrade the normal berserkers.

I dont think we understood each other again. Here`s what i thought : you play mage and all heappy when hit 2500 leadership get 1 black dragon and lead him around fighting and before you get 5000 lead, your 1 BD got some unit exp and upgraded some stats. So when you get second BD are they separated first BD is expert lvl from before, and second is noob just bought/hatched from egg, or you continue game with 1 stack of 2 BD on medium lvl where second BD got part of experianced one(they shared exp first gained during battles) ?

I understood what you said but it would be strange to have 1 normal BD and 1 upgraded BD in your army at the same time at 5000 leadership. So it makes sense to have the second BD automatically upgraded. Yes, it seems unbalanced, but I suppose the game design takes this fact into consideration (harder battles, already upgraded enemies(!), etc ).

Lol, wouldn't it be best to have 2 Semi-Upgraded Black Dragons, as I think that Fatt_Shade has suggested.
You have 1 Black Dragon, then trough battles, you upgrade it to 10th level (which I believe is the max level), then you go and buy yourself another Black Dragon... Now, in this mod, you'll have 2 x 10th level Black Dragons, which is not fair from some perspective. Instead, as in HoMM: Wake of Gods, you should have 2 x 5th level Black Dragons, which I think would be better. :)
I think that it wasn't done on purpose, rather, scripting out such a system take's time, knowledge and patience, and modders of Red Sands lacked one of those things, but then again, that's just my opinion.
Anyway, it's a great mod, and we'll have to play it as it is. :)
P.S. with my relatively humble knowledge of Russian language, I would be willing to help with the translation, if my help is needed.

Ok my bad, we did understood but this is a bit of problem. As i sugested and bladeking rememberd in Wake of Gods you had that sistem where 1 experianced unit and 1 brand new made 2 mid trained troops, it was great. And there games lasted for months (game time, turn based) and enemy wasn`t much more advanced than that, since it was set to stationary enemy get like 3% exp/week or something. Here in KB-CW game time is from 7 days to 1 month (for all those who like to travel around) and making enemy advance in exp could be done in same way. I dont diss on ppl who made this mod, just sugesting to look at HoMM3-WoG scripts it was done great by them, so they already have reference how to make in work also in this mod Red Sands. I like ideas in Red Sands, and we needed something new to give other moders inspiration for their projects.
But as it is now this unit exp system could make serious unbalance in game play.
Here Pcbun had similar mod for KB-AP but many players complained about geting units to max lvl very fast and all battles got very easy even on impossible http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=14741
(he also had great idea to make 5 reserve slots). I havent still dl this mod, but i`m guessing it was huge project to finish, and good job for all involved. But as every player i`m looking for ways to get game working for me, and this units sharing exp will make it very nice : get 1 unit lead it throught couple of battles to max lvl then buy as much as you can lead, and instantly you have full stack of high lvl units :-(

Hmm, maybe you might have to download it and find out exactly how it works?
Since it is such a big gameplay change it might be that they balanced the game around this new feature? We'd have to play it through completely to find out.

Don't worry. The exp bonuses are balanced and polished. There are no inbalance features like it was in PCBun mod. Exp system more like some bonus for playing the same creatures through the game.

No prob man, i just asked and saw on those screenshots unit stats translated so i was wondering is there some partialy translated version. I dl it and try but all i see is unit_skill_hint, chat_line_hint with NPC`c . . . and have no idea what`s going on. After dl, i need to instal it in my game folder, and place red_sands folder in session, or . . . is there anything else to copy to some exsact location?
I`ll w8 till official version, to try all this out.

Now, I don't know in what way my help can be applied so I'm ready to hear suggestions. For one, you can just post whole paragraphs in russian and I will give a translation. I can't translate everything cause I believe our craftsmen wrote A Lot there.
I passed Red Sands once myself, and I have a picture of quests-structure, though I haven't developed it myself.

In Red Sands there are three folders in "localization". Two of them: "other" and "rus_quest" are being translated by karabaya.
I just started translating "rus_chat" and, considering there's 184 files there and my "humble" russian, it's not going very fast.
If you wish to help, you could take a portion of files (for instance: from "rus_chat_1076788295_0660678793.lng" to "rus_chat_2084421464_0171086550.lng" ), and translate them. :)
You could always take more, or less files depending on how it suits you.

2 things:
1) I leave all those system tags as they are? like I don't touch
chat_system_660678793_snap_6_answer_0=^?^
but only translate russian words that go after it or before the line end tag?
2) I've never done such stuff before. Any practical recomendations? Or do I just load files into a text editor, and replace the russian words?
On a sidenote, I've played only russian versions of KB, so I'm not familiar with standard english names and terms for stuff. Thus, my translation may be a bit different, but I hope it won't hurt. In the worst case, you will understand what I meant and replace my words with common.

EDIT: Also, Grimeleven pointed out that there are some files: eng_chat_2084421464_0041400475.lng and rus_chat_2084421464_0041400475.lng that have similar text that you can copy and paste for the same labels in files. I'm not sure if you can entirely replace them, but if you want me to I can match up the ones that have already been translated in the retail version of crossworlds and send it for the translators to look at (if you haven't done so already?)

Well, as I said Im not familiar with all those formats. I think I understand your example.
To rephrase my previous post:
- I Leave all service symbols and words as they are. regardless of their place in text documents. <br> is a paragraph break or something, but it shouldn't matter for me.
- I just replace all russian phrases I meet as I look through files with english equivalents, and try not to damage file format. (by file format I mean those service symbols and words).

There are 2 questions.
1) First, whom shall I send them to check the integrity? I mean, if I do something wrong it's better to find it sooner than later. I seem not to be able to just attach them to my forum message.
2) These 2 files are dialogues with Dwarf Academy tutor and the Giant near the Abyss. I haven't seen there much that would differ from dialogues in "March of the Orcs" or how this addon name was translated into English.
If it's so, maybe it's not an effective pastime to translate on amateur level things that had been translated by a professional a year ago. Or had we better do it again? Please clarify.

1) I don't know, just pack them in a .zip file and send them to either me, or karabaja. I would suggest that you only do so after translating all of the files you intend on translating, since if there's an error somewhere, it can always be fixed later. :)
2) I added an attachment of all existing "eng_chat....lng" and "eng_actors_lng". As I have noticed, some of the files haven't been changed at all, so all you have to do is copy the text from english file to russan one, save, and it's finished.
Some files on the other hand, have only some text added, so just copy the existing text in english file over the one in russian, translate the rest of the text, save, and again it's finished.
For those files that are completely new, just translate them all without worry. :)
As for actor names, just refer to english ones if existent, or if they are new just make them up.

P.S. The loc_ses.zip in the attachment is actually a renamed .rar file, and you'll need a winrar, or winzip, or some other software. :)
EDIT: Another tip, since you have a russian version of the game, compare the size of the files from Red Sands to size of files from Armored Princess(addon folder)/Orcs on the March (orcs folder).
If you find a file in red sands that has the same name and same file size (in bytes), it means that nothing was changed, and you are free to delete that file - no need to bother translating a file that has no changes made to it. :)

I'm not sure if you can entirely replace them, but if you want me to I can match up the ones that have already been translated in the retail version of crossworlds and send it for the translators to look at (if you haven't done so already?)

Sorry, ran into another one of those "abort, retry, ignore" script errors that occured when I hit a goblin catapult with my disintegration ray with Asmo the Beholder.
I don't remember the precise errors message though. I wonder if it is language related or something else?
So far, this is a really good mod. Too bad the language thing makes it hard to figure out some of the quest dialogue, but not too bad.
Seems somewhat balanced, but the early game for mages is MUCH easier now that you have Asmo.
The levelling idea seems pretty good since it does reward you for using some units very early on in the game.

Two questions for those who worked on Red Sands. Do I have permission to use resources (I.E textures, models, units, etc.) from this expansion in my mod? And whom should I credit for usage of such resources?

I am not one of the mod developers but afaik it's not legal (officially) to use Red Sands in whatever way.
There even have been issues with its having been translated into English at all. I was yelled at at first, though in the end we kind of agreed that "it's OK but only if the translation quality is high". Anyways You should ask Zini4 - the chief coder and one of them 'mental leaders' of the project - who posts here sometimes. if he doesn't you can try to find him on russian forum.
On a side note, I've looked through the translation of CrossWorlds (Orc March).
It's just awful. 1C grudged to pay $500 to a professional translator. Some things translated in a wrong way, some just have opposite meaning. And the very fun of many interesting dialogues is lost cause proverbs or something are translated 'literally, word-to-word' so their english meaning is lost.
In this circumstances, I think our translation can't be much worse by all means :)
The other problem is that it takes more of my time than I expected. It's not the very translation speed issue, but all those tags that I should to keep in order, and inconvenient files format. I translated like 10 files so far, and not sure what my progress can be by the end of this week, and the next week I won't have much time. But we shall see. Whatever is better than nothing.

Anyway, there are three things that might prove to be a problem:
1) There's lot of same text, with some files completely unchanged (I think), and some files have only some text added to them. Now, in such cases I simply copied the text (form eng_chat to rus_chat), and while I did always check not to make a mistake, there is a possibility that I made some errors that will express themselves in bugs or otherwise.
2) Considering I'm not all that great with Russian (or English for that matter), I couldn't make sense of some sentences/words, even with help of google translator and some other translators/dictionaries. Therefore, in some cases, I might have given some sentences a different or even an opposite meaning.
3) Since there are already three of us translating this mod, our terms and names might not match with one another and confuse/mislead the players.
These may not even prove to be big problems, but I thought I should mention them.
Also, I'm translating in following order: from first to last ([rus_chat_003...] to [rus_chat_208...]), so I hope that you(Glorfindel1982) are translating backwards, so we wouldn't end up translating the same files.
Now, I'm off to some more translating, and maybe we could translate this by July. :)

There is a problem that the sequence numbers of already existing questions/answers are changed in a few files, and new phrases are inserted in the middle. That's why an ordinary copy-paste of the whole pieces doesn't work and one should be careful.
Also, I started translating from the middle to the end (as you suggested that I should do in one of previous posts). Anyways I won't do this half fully and will post what I've done on Friday.
About difficult places: 99418601 is my ICQ. Even if I haven't time to translate myself, I can easily help in translating a certain passage or even several, meaning of which is unclear for a foreigner. Feel free, it's no problem at all.
And the main mod creator asked me to pay special attention to translation of 2 personages: Dragon BUGO HOSS (russian Дракон Буго Хосс) and Dwarf-in-Capuchon (russian Гном-в-Капюшоне)
Also, I've submitted translations of new personages' names to the creators approval. and here is the list that I hope you will stick to:

Yes, I'm not sure who else to contact other than Zini4. I want to make sure that I have permission and know who to credit before I use the Red Sands content. I'll ask if Zini4 can ask the others for permission in my stead because I have poor Russian.

1) I`ve found while lvling units there is no astral ress bonus, all other unit get physical/fire/magic/poison are added while lvling units but not astral.
2) Also in magic ball/lether dress astral ress is missing in items.txt , in medals.txt in guardian angel also astral ress missing in all 4 lvl`s.
I`ll report when i find more, i`m not trying to lower this mod, just want to help in checking things before you ppl place this on market :-)

Oh, I heard it was done by developers and players.
I was under the impression that astral resistance was never NORMALLY allowed.
Only Gift Bag / Crossworlds really started to consider it with the Chaos Crown and Crystal Ball.
Magic Ball/Crystall Ball should apply astral resistance, unless it was a bug to begin with and they 'fixed' it.
Guardian Angel never applied to Astral Resistance as far as I know.
As to whether or not they should, that is a different question.

Stone skin say res% to physical and it gives that, shield of dragon slayer say res% to fire and gives that, so it`s only normal that item/medal that say res% to ALL gives res% to ALL. Same problem i never figured out how to fix is with divine armor spell, it doesnt protect from astral dmg.
1 more prob, but it`s posible only with my game : whenever i start battle with orc saboteur in enemy army my game crashes, no matter what units i have in my army and no problems with any other of new units mystic/evil genius/ice dragon . . . only orc new unit makes this problem. Any idea`s what`s problem and how to fix it ?

Wonderful to hear about Red Sands. I glimpse thru some of the posts on this thread and it seems to be still WIP ? Can I jump in now and just update the Mod folder on my PC when new updates is ready or it will require a restart once the Mod is full completion / translation ?
I am currently trying out Marlow's Legends mods but feel that Red Sands is definitely much more interesting as it is totally new contents.

And that is the "other question". Whether or not astral resistance should be raised via Divine Armor. I originally thought yes... now I'm not so sure and would lean towards NOT having it affect Astral Resistance. Perhaps we should open up another thread for that though rather than clutter this one.
Anyways, they say "all" to avoid saying "all elemental" or "all but astral". :)
Orc Saboteurs do not crash my system, but you get the old "sux, orc_saboteur_trophy" or whatever error that the orc shamans used to get. If you alt-tab, you can see the "caught exception" in windows, and just click on "ignore" to continue playing.
As for a REAL crash, I can get the game to crash when the ENEMY Dragon of Chaos turns my Heavenly Guardian (rune mage summon) to a Rage Pill.
It is playable for the most part. The quest texts are off though, so you have to blind guess what the proper text is since it is sometimes shifted. :(
The difficulty is... different. In some ways it is easier, in other ways it is harder.
That said, it is quite good though so far. I posted a thread in the main page citing "spoilers" and "discussion". No one really posted on it though... :(

Ok i agree about misleading definitions of some item`s/spell`s etc but rune mage got their fix about runic armor error in 1.3.1 patch, there was fix for other problems also, so why is it such big problem to write `Divine shield gives resistances to physical and elemental dmg. Which leaves us with almost no protection from astral dmg if we dont find crown of chaos/ghost armor. Stone skin gives physical res, so why divine armor gives it also but doesnt apply astral res ?
Orc saboteur problem isn`t blocked game untill i choose retry/abort/ignore on my desktop, it just close game with to other options.
As for quest dialogs, yes i have same problem but i just try out this mod untill official translation comes out (i hope soon, because i want to try out new companions Mesmer seems great for mage hero).
And about your tread i`ve seen it but since there is already 2 started in mod`s i dont think you`ll get much trafic there because this is still in development and not much players tried it to give you coments about contents and their impressions.

I'm still translating, but it's going rather slowly.
System files, and quest files are already translated, or so I think. The only files left are dialogue (chat).
I translated somewhat over 50 files out of over 180, so if anyone is willing to help, it's always appreciated. :)
At this rate it might take over a month before it's finished.
If someone IS willing to help, please consult me and other members who are currently translating, so we wouldn't end up translating the same files multiple times.

Only 1 question fillyra : where to place this files you atached in eng_chat.zip ? I think in game/sessions/red_sands/localization/rus/rus_chat, but should we replace files there or just copy new you posted ?

You make a new folder named eng, and another one named eng_chat in there, and put the files in there. This method won't work for everyone so I really recommend waiting until the entire translation is out.
EDIT: Also, it's probably better to wait until the entire translation is out. That way people can play the game and see if the translation needs any more work or any sort of polishing (I.E: characters sounding more a certain way or so).

OK ppl i have couple question untill official translation comes out :
1) What does Alucard item do ? killing dragons fill it up to 100% and then what ?
2) Where is battle academy file , cant find it to add new units in it : monstera upgraded from royal thorns, and new beholder units (gorgon, medium, mystic)to upgrade from normal behoders.
3) What am i suposed to do in new cave on verona ? left from bridge of demenions castle. Near that cave is friendly NPC with chat options, but it`s not translated and i have no idea what to do with him, it`s 1 of those new companions.
4) Any progress with translating new quests? I picked up 2 quests (1 on scarlet wind, 1 on verona)that also have no idea what to do with.
5) Ice dragons are totaly magic imune, cant even heal them with rune mages. is this planed, or just some problem in my game.
6) Some of Asmodean skills are confussing -
Reduces the initiative them is 1 level without stand for 1 reason ????
Unreciprocated attacking creatures level 1 without perssistant intelligence ???? Wtf does this mean?

Do you have equipped the item? I know a silly question :) But if you have it in the backpack it don´t work, it is not like the quest sword to temper in dragons blood.

I play mage with elenhel so i have plenty of artefact slots, ofc i carry it with me but it could be some problem with my game same as crash when ever i attack enemy with orc saboteur unit (i`we read all files with that unit mentioned and cant find any error connected with it :-( )

I have the same problem with the orc saboteur unit. If it use a skill (i don´t know which) the game crash.
But sometimes he don´t use this skill in the first round and i can kill him, but later it should be really a problem if you can´t kill him in two rounds, because he will use this skill latest in the second round.
Seem to be a bug.
The same as Alucard, i have now killed 50 dragons (i have a savegame bevor i bought it - i ever save often if i play a mod) and it never let me use it. But before i could use it after killing a stack of 20 black dragons...

Fairly certain persistent intelligence means those who are immune to mind spells. e.g a barbarian will probably be able to counter attack.
Regarding the Orc Saboteur, I thought I had a post about that, but basically it has the same bug that orc shaman used to have in one of the first runs of 1.3.0 Crossworlds.
It halts at an exception, which you can either abort/retry/ignore. If you ignore it, you can continue your game.
So when the game "freezes", you alt-tab. Find the pop-up that says what to do with the exception, then click on ignore.
The only time I have crashed so far is when an enemy Dragon of Chaos turns my heavenly guards into rage balls. Then it hard crashes.

thx vor the info, but if the orc saboteur crash the game there is no switch to desktop because i land on the desktop and there are only the message that kb.exe is terminated and don´t work.
There is no retry/abort/ignore like the shaman at the crossworld 1.3 The game terminate immediately.

Same problem here, as soon i start some battle with orc saboteur game shut down without any questions, i cant even see what ability he uses that make tihis happen, i was thinking to just cut out that unit entirely from game (delete his files, and be done with it).
And how is runic staff used ? Should i carry it and after some battles spend runes on it to get some bonus, or . . . ?

Does anyone have issue installing russian version of the red sand mod onto Steam AP? At the end of the installation, it says something about label/code not valid. I can still play the mod but it seemed like a lot of the conversation files and folders are missing. I am not sure if there are any creatures/items missing as well because of the part of the files
Hopefully, there is a good version released soon for all ardent AP fans.

So entirely no time to continue what I started to do.
Here is a list of files I translated - more than 30, some of them from entirely new personages.
I started from the second half in the directory of chat-files and translated nigh to 30, and then took 2-3 files (from second half as well) that were most difficult (new personage "dwarf-in-capuchon", or "dwarf-assassin" as he is usually refered to in russian).
Can't help more thus far. But as I wrote before, I would try to find time to translate dialogues with dragon BUGO HOSS, as they asked me to pay special attention to them. Could anyone tell me file names for this NPC dialogues?

Maybe. Although preferably since it is just a translation it would likely save space if the russian version was used and the english translation added onto it. It'll come with instructions anyhow.
AP mean Armored Princess yes. You would have to install it into the king's bounty folder inside the steam directory, but this is better explained when the translation is out.
Glorfindel -- I'll look for them and post when I find those files with what you mentioned.

EDIT: Another tip, since you have a russian version of the game, compare the size of the files from Red Sands to size of files from Armored Princess(addon folder)/Orcs on the March (orcs folder).
If you find a file in red sands that has the same name and same file size (in bytes), it means that nothing was changed, and you are free to delete that file - no need to bother translating a file that has no changes made to it. :)
It is great if someone upload loc_session of rus verision KBCW so I can write a program to get files not modified. :grin:

I have question, i instaled this mod, when i started the game i started again it was same as when i start a normal crossworlds campaign. So this mod is a crossworlds game with new maps and units and race ? I can play the whole crossworlds game (kill bhaal at last fight ) with the new features ?

I have another problem with spell phantom that whenever enemy heroes use this spell => the game crash. I know that I can remove the spell from those heroes by the editor but I dont like it :( Do you have any solution with this ;)

Nah, It's didnt show anything, just crashed and the game disappeared. It occured exactly at the time when the phantom of the target spawning, I've just tested the lizardman hero in the island where we have to fight big frog. Any solution :(
About chaos dragon issue, I've found how to fix this bug when I were creating a new bone dragon with blue fire on it :) This bug happens when you kill a troop that doesnt leave body after it's death. So you have to look for atom file of those troop and change the line "realdeath=1" to "realdeath=0" or just delete this line. I know it will somewhat change the balance of the game but this is the only solution I've got so far :( If you dont want to change, simply dont use this dragon or try to kill it as soon as posible in case the enemy use it :)
Can you tell me which file contain the script code for dragon?

Nahh, I think "function inferno_breath(corpse, dmgts)" doesnt affect anything in the game. I tried to tweak this function or even delete it but demon still spawned balls of rage => it's doesnt affect the skill of demon :( but I will look at "function inferno_breath(corpse, dmgts)" soon :)
About Phantom issue, island: Dersu => hero name: Gagash => army: Gorgul and Lake Dragonfly. Anytime he cast phantom, the game crash no matter which troop they cast on. He also use Call Animal. I've changed his troop via the Editor but it doesnt help :(
Note: Amelie doesnt have any problem using Phantom in my game.

I've tried to create a talent that can increase fire,magic and poison resistance but I have no clue how do it :confused: Can you help me out. I know that I need to look at stone skin spell for more information but it's script make me nervous :(
-About rage ball of demon, "demon_soul_reaver" is the script of ingame discription of the skill. I found drunken stance of Dwarf, Power of the elemental of Elf, Metabolism of Lizardman etc but no clue about rage ball of demon :( I doubt it's in the arena.lua but I'm too busy now with my mod so can you look for it for me. Nahh, I dont think demon skill spawns rage, because I've tried to give to my new monster but nothing happened. I found out that if you change the race of a monster to demon (in atom file) they can spawn rage ball too but not for new creatures that you create yourself :confused: Can you upload your spell.lua so I can check the phantom spell in my version. First u ought to complete regular quest to kill some enemy hero.
IDK, how it's called in eng, but this is quest with some chest. U pick it up and enemy hero appears.
After defeating this hero U have to return to Lenny.
Nevermind anyway, the quest perhaps has not been translated yet, so u will understand nothing.

Works fine on my end. I just edited my main post on the translation, make sure there are no files that begins with rus_XXXX.lng inside these 3 folders "other" "rus_chat" "rus_quest", sorry i completely forgot that aspect that this needed to be done for you guys as mine was fixed lol.

It has a bug (the game). I am on Red Sands island and whenever I want to fight those undead lizards the game crashes without any error message. It doesn't crash at the beginning of the battle but rather when the enemy has to act. Any ideas? The game is awesome so far.

I have and played osme battles with no problems.
What enemy units are in troop, and check which have highest initiative, so we know who makes problem.
There is orc saboteur bug that caused them to crash game but was fixed here :

And say did you moded some game files by yourself, i did try to change some things on my own, to see how it works but later retuner to original settings maybe you forgot to fix something you changed before.

I had problems with bug some unit hit anothr for 0dmg, but kill entire stack no mater how many units are in it (other players reported this happening also). I just dl mod again and delete old from my game folder. Close game, start it again and just continue playing like nothing happened.
I`m sry but i dont know what else to tell you about fixing your problem :-(

You might have to reinstall Red Sands. Install the updated version of Red Sands, and then install the latest translation mod over it.
Sometimes though, things will just spontaneously break (especially if you use Steam version of King's Bounty: Crossworlds). I've experienced it on my King's Bounty saves sometimes as well and you have to reinstall King's Bounty, install latest drivers, and start from a new game.

In config/items.txt i copy item from winner_belt but changed to values,stats of my item, in items that make this new item i added usable in propbits next to item type, and i copy usec=020000000. . . string, from items that make winner belt.
In localization/eng/other/eng_items.lng i added new item same way winner belt is, and in it`s components added :

I have all 3 item that make new, but i cant `use` them.
Help some1 :-(
Other problem is with upgradeable old items, i added lvl`s to some old weak items and make them usable later in game, and it works great. I have those items also can upgrade them, and get new lvl`ed item with bonuse but item picture is blank only white space. It exsist in invertory and gives bonus to my units but it have no picture. In items.txt for thet new upgraded item i set some 52x52 picture i dl from net and it wont work. If i change image=heroitem_... to something other then my png file that is already in game it works fine. But i would like to make different item from those already in game. What else i need to change for my items to be shown in hero`s invertory?

Hi, I need a help.
When I install and run RS, game writes me "Label not found : cpi_darkmage_feat. I hit ignore, game is running, but i think, without content RS. For example when I choose my dragon, I should get second familiar. I look to my inventory and i see only triangle item with label : [itm beholder_stone_name]. Could someone please help me? @Kulisekcz Hm , did you instal all mod from first page on this tread, or just update from 13page ? You need full mod, then update, because what you describe "Label not found : cpi_darkmage_feat.` seems like you`r missing some files from original mod settings. Try to dl again on first page russian version, then update on 13page, and then if you want english translated chat and quests go here and read description how to make it work http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=23485

Question : individual exp for units works great, i added it up to 15 lvl with no problems, but only thing i dont get is special/healer stats doesnt get higher wit lvl`s at all :-( I have paladins with +12% healer and they still heal 24 hp/unit. How to fix this ? Is it something in exp_system.lua file or . . . ?

Question for devs of red sands : which file contains pet dragons skill lvlup ?
In adventure mod all was neatly placed in pet.lua so i added 1 more lvl for all pet dragons skills(more dmg to some, shock% for lightning, +1chest . . .). SInce hero can easily get to 60+lvls i only added this to make dragon a bit more usefull later in game (no matter do i play warrior or mage, every game dragon gets to 60 when my hero is about 50-52lvl)
Here i cant find them anywhere :-(

exp_pet_hint.lua is file how much exp pet get from which skill
eng!!!exp_pethint.lng is for hinting text for his skill when you open him in hero menu
addon_pet is for functioning of his skill, how much dmg, mana for regen, wall hp . . .
In adventure mod bladeking made nice file pet.atom in which he explained all pet skill, and lvlup information. There i added new lvl`s for pet (nothing to much, just 1 more lvl for every skill) but in red sands, or RSE there is no such file :-(
Or at least some hint where to find pet dragons exp table ? Hero exp table is in red sands/config/arena.txt file, is there any such exp list for pet dragon.

Ahh ok, Im not familiar with pet mods, but if you post here a line of the code that does actually deal with what you are looking for, I have a program that will find it in no time.. For example in main pet level file, or the adventure mod file, any line that would be similar, I can search the whole of the red sands mod in seconds and find any file that pertains to that line..

Sorry to bother everyone if that has been answered before (could not find it though if it has) but when I arrive at red sands whenever I fight a group with undead tirexes the moment their turn comes the game crashes (no error message just crashes to desktop without any preamble). Any ideas/help please?

@shadowtek Ok good idea, thx. Try finding any place 91000 is mentioned (it`s last 60th lvl for pet dragon exp value) , this will help finding exp table for pet`s lvlup. Or find any part of this line ` level1=level:0/damage:physical:80:100,rage:4,rest:1,exp:3,push:1, level:1` it`s first lvl for dragon push from bladeking`s adventure mod pet.atom file in which he listed all pet`s skill lvlup, so if any file in red sands have this line i guess it will include rest of pet skills.

Hi, i searched all red sands files, none of that was there, are you sure that red sands modifies the pet at all? Or at least that part? You may be able to simply grab the original files and modify them and throw them in the mods folder? I'll keep looking though..

I think you can simply grap the pet.atom file out of the kings bounty armored princess\data\data.kfs file and modify that and throw it in mods folder
I uploaded the original game file version below if it helps (this is the original game file, not the adventure mods version)

Pet.atom is no problem ifound it and added new lvl`s for skills and in adventure mod i had all those lvl`s but still pet dragon got stuck to 60th lvl (i skipped wall completely so i could pick my new lvl`s for chests, dive,lightning . . .). I was wondering mostly how to add new lvls in his exp table after max lvl 91000exp, in hero exp there is max lvl in arena.txt but also there`s 60000exp more for every lvl after it, i wonder is there any file with dragons exp table, os i can add more lvl`s for him 61st ,62nd . . . Hero dont have max lvl, why pet dragon is maxed to 60 ?

Sorry, I updated the original post.
Looks like there doesn't need to be anything extra translated (or so what's apparent to me). I still need to go do a playthrough of this and see what's what and whatnot. Since a part of it was done by google translation by grimeleven (last year too!) there's still a lot of work that still needs to be done.
Happy Holidays and an early Merry Christmas to everyone in case I'm not around to say it then. I'll see if I can take some time off from everything else and get some translation refinement done here. Also anticipating the new King's Bounty game or expansion that's coming out.

You can do it if you want, the translation is incomplete at the moment though where you have some dialogue that doesn't make much sense in English. You're welcome to translate it to Chinese from the current version if you want, but it'll be updated frequently while I work on refining it and so dialogues might be changed here and there.
For the blank symbols, you'll want to extract the "localization" folder from red_sands_ses.kfs with an extractor program and use something like Notepad++ to remove the blank symbols entirely from the game files. If you've already tried that though, then I'm not sure other than that you'll have to check around the tags such as <BR>, <color...>, , and the sort and make sure there are no blank symbols tied to them.

Talk to Blacksmith Krip Custer in Montero and see if that progresses the quest? If not, try talking to Vasdegam. If either didn't work then I'll have to play through the quest myself and see what happens.

I've been having problems with it too. I checked the script for it and it doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with it so I'm trying to figure out if any of the localization files could have anything that would prevent it from being used properly.

It's not your localization. This skill is a bit complicated to use.
In the beginning all you can do with that - is revive undead creatures you have in your army. I.e. if you has some zombies in your army, than you could use the dead archers to revive or even add some of them.
When you continue to develop Asmadeo's skills you should take a "Harvest" (or something like that) skill a.s.a.p. When you learn it, you can use Mystic Ritual just like a "Victim" spell, you can now transfer health between your own creatures.
Also, you have to take "Necromancy" skill, it gives a second charge to the Mystic Ritual skill. You can acquire the third, and the last charge to your Mystic Ritual by taking a "Summon" skill in a Magic tab of your hero. It is crucial to use Mystic Ritual as much as possible, every battle, even if you don't really need it, because it's the only way to develop this skill, you gain some experience every time you use it.
In addition, when you take a second level of Asmadeo's "Necromancy" skill you can heal Asmodeo himself, using the dead bodies, very useful.

I'm not sure, you might want to look and ask in the Red Sands Extreme mod thread and those people with/who have played RSE might have a better idea.

I think i may have found a bug. When i try to upgrade "Fine Boots" my game stop's responding at loading screen. Also Maelstrom gets same endless hourglass as mentioned above.

@HardWithStyle Try to attach your items.txt file here to check what is problem (it should be in game/sessions/red_sands/config/ folder), because i think it must be something in that file. Make it in winzip file and attach here.
Did you have problems with upgrading/suppressing other items ? And is that boots +2 mana upgrading to +30 mana item ?

Indeed, this skill is starting to annoy to a point of removing it entirely. Bug still occurs randomly on Humans.
For testing, i think this may fix it for good, revert to even older 1.1 patch settings

Edit:... The .lua edit seems a better fix now, i did a battle with an enemy which had 4-5 "triggers" of the Fighting spirit skill and it didn't crash the game... hope it continue that way.
Now if the game still freeze at this point, ensure you run the game in dev mode and press CTRL + Z to revert the last enemy action, until the game starts working again.
Another method would be to edit every human .atom files to comment out, until a definitive patch comes out

Did that, it worked for me too. My game crash out of many reasons, like that blue orc warrior, his camouflage skill just isn't working for me (get appcrash) next fight it works, but doesn't matter, 15secs and I'm back playing ;)
I love this skill, its my favorite, game has F5 button, so not a real problem :) This is really impressive work and i endorse it! You guys are just awesome!
Should be more mods like this

Since they added fighting spirit to humans they became even more OP then other races (great moral, best units for no loss, good support skills second wind/bless/magic shield/holy rage . . .).
In AP/CW only unit that could do more then 1 act in turn was goblin, and now whole human race have it not to mention they have most items for +moral which give even more % for fighting spirit to kick in.
All in all it`s to much for 1 race to have, so i`m for removing whole fighting spirit from game.

I think i have bugged monster. Its either Ice Nymph or Ancient Gorguana. I found a mob on Montero, that makes my game stop responding. Now i searched every single file on red_sands and i couldn't find any of their name. Also i did check every rar i downloaded and 0 result there. How to fix this or delete these 2 mobs ?
"Fine Boots" i could upgrade after changing that upgr_per_lvl=6 to upgr_per_lvl=3.
I fight every single other keeper never got loading screen issue, here is the file of my items.txt
EDIT: For some strange reason, after i restart my PC, everything works without a single problem. Had 10 fights with many 2nd activations -> 0 bugs, crashes etc.

Level 36 mage and from those mobs at Montero up to Uzala not a single crash! This mod is truly amazing, Legendary Phoenix are amazing.
Orc Saboteur are a problem i believe tho, when i fight then, sometimes it takes more then 10~15sec to act. Its when i attack them (happened with Paladin, Orc Hunter, Maelstrom and Legendary Phoenix).

Hello,
I started yesterday to play this mod. At the beginning when you choose Drako, you also get another Hero. I don't remember his name. Just know that if you have this hero you have to sacrifice 15% leadership and 15% mana. Also this hero has levels as Drako.
My question. Will another hero level increase through experience in battle or I need to finish some quests? Because at this moment Drako has 4 level and another hero's level hasn't changed..

@ataris You need to place that item in shield slot to work. And you didnt mentioned what hero class you play (warrior, paladin, mage?) At start every battle it will give you option to place Asmodeo unit on arena, but it must be placed near some of your units. It`s beholder type units with 3 active skills (but mystic ritual feel free to disregard since it`s almost useless). Every action with that unit give him individual exp that isn`t connected to hero or pet dragon, and with using him to attack, or when he retaliate he gets exp. If your new to Asmodeo try him out, but there is 2 type to his playthrough : 1) use only him to kill enemy so hell lvlup faster, and when he have enough hp and retaliations jump him to enemy lines and watch show :-)
2) is only use him as support, which is half-ass strategy but still interesting.
In start try to concentrate on his hp -Titan , hp regen -Accelerated Metabolism, lifesteal -Vampirism, and retaliation -Boisterousness, act again after retaliation -Unstoppable skills lvlup.
Also important are : Carapase, Elemental mastery, Speed, Elan (bonus to initiative) Sixth sense (miss chance)
Skills to avoid : Necromancer (gives more charges to mystic ritual, useless mostly), Destructive beam, Beholder commander, Creepy, Domination, Harvest. I`m not saying this skills are useless, but try to lvlup first skills that buff Asmodeo before giving him skills that debuff enemy, because he first need to stay alive to use them. Also try not to use lightning attack (blink in enemy units) early in game while he is weak. but if he dies you can revive him with couple magic crystals. Since he is magic immune try leading couple units with him to get guardian medal it will help him stay alive later in game (i say somewhere on forum that players got him up to 60lvl when he had 8000hp and other sick stats, but that were mostly solo Asmodeo play).
But as i said before try him out, and have fun :-)

Nvm post edited, i had found a solution to a bug (patch 1.6) that caused game crash to hang forever when unit leveled to 15 but it cannot be used... side effect is that now units stop getting experience, so i will continue to search for a better way to fix this.

I only get an error message with saboteurs - I press "ok" and keep playing but the crash is catastrophic :(

At what mobs do you crash? Does it happen at loading screen or when you try to attack a certain monster with certain soldier? I now press F5 before i encounter any of these mobs:
- Orc Saboteur
- Ice Nymph
- Ice Dragon
- Ancient Gorguana
- Those mages same as Necromancers (forgot name)
Those mobs give me random crash, when i attack with Legendary Phoenix (close range), Paladin, Orc Hunter, Royal Griffin and Horseman.

I crash with ancient gorguana. But consistently so quicksave/quickload does not work. At least I only met these mobs in red sands so it did not affect the rest of my game but I want to play red sands :(

Big Thanks for this great major mod. Having some great fun playing with the new units and items :)
Now everthing worked great so far (lvl 51) and I wanted to do the red sands quest now which got stuck at Vasdegam on Uzala.
He has no dialog to continue the quest line in his menu.
I could only do the standard quest to deliver some notes to the Elves.
I'm using RS 1.6.1 + RSE 1.4 and patched mid-game from RS 1.6 + RSE 1.3.1, and english translation.
First i tried to use the old RS 1.6 + RSE 1.3.1 which i saved before patching, but same effect, no dialog to continue.

The dialog files in english seem to be there as well, like eng_chat_0536743116_0055169642.lng,

I used the "orc_hunter.atom" file as "orc_saboteur.atom" so Orc Saboteurs are Orc Hunters ingame. Thats no nice solution but ONE missing new unit is a loss which is bearable.
These files should be located in <kings bounty folder>\sessions\red_sands\atoms
I remember there was a second unit i had to replace, but cant remember which one it was. One of the "hyteriac" things which only appear in the isle of red sands, i believe.

I made a copy "orc_saboteur.atom".
Then I just copied everything from "orc_hunter.atom" to "orc_saboteur.atom" except from the model; I tried the unit and I experienced no crash, obviously :).
Then I added something from the original "orc_saboteur.atom" to the new one and made other check...no crashes.
I managed to recreate the Orc Saboteur adding "posthitmaster", "posthitslave" and all 3 special attacks; I added animation for "evade" and sounds for "evade" and "telein"/"teleout".
In the end I have a fully functional Orc Saboteur, without knowing what was wrong with the original one, the 2 files are almost identical, mine being 6698 characters instead of 6722 of the original, but I've no patience to go through the files and search for differences.
Hope to be helpful for someone.

No, we will not add these creatures.
Total quality of these creatures can't satisfy my slice assessment.
I was adding new creatures more than a year. Each one has token about a month of my life. So I guess, their overall quality is nigh enough to original KATAURI creatures.
It's just hurts me, when somebody compares them and funds out equal significance beetwen mine and RSE creatures.
P.S. sory for my eng, in any case.

I didn't play in Red Sands. I read about RSE and I saw creatures screens, I liked them. Red Sands Extreme does not interest me. I wanted only to test creatures. I wanted to try them and alone to estimate.
Hard, but in the end more it doesn't mean better.
If I didn't value your work over Red Sands I would not dedicate many time without no help to translate all mod. I translate it about five months and still I didn't finish.
I apologise for my English, I hope that it will be possible to understand me.

This is special attack wuth teleportation for Genom Councils.
I prefer it translated as Striking Teleportation.

I'm trying a no loss impossible mage and I'll start on Bolo soon. My Asmo deals very low damage. His first skill is interesting but the damage is too low, the second skill means sending him to certain death and the third skill I haven't figured out how it works yet, nothing happens when I select the dead creature.
Is it ok to go get rid of him and go on with the game? I liked red sands, but I hate Asmo, I hate him badly for being so demanding and giving nothing in return.

I answered same question in Red sands extreme mod tread Asmodeo is sick unit, if you play him 100% solo or great support if you use him allot with you`re army. But if you only use him from time to time, he`s not very interesting.

And for -15% lds, it is worth it, because later on certain lvl you can `use` (release) him for price and not wear item, but have him in army all time.

Asmadeo can become a real bad-ass in mid game if u treat him right.
In upcoming patch i some kinda modify his expirience gaining system. So he grows faster if hero is more expirienced than Asmadeo.

Asmadeo can become a real bad-ass in mid game if u treat him right.
In upcoming patch i some kinda modify his expirience gaining system. So he grows faster if hero is more expirienced than Asmadeo.

I am currently playing two games now:
1 - red sands on my laptop: I started a new game with the main purpose - to level up Asmadeo. I've had about 12 fights so far and killed nearly all units using Asmadeo, but he is still level 1! :evil: I am surely waiting for the patch, something gotta be wrong in my current game.
2 - red sands extreme on my desktop: the new level 5 creatures on this one are so powerful that I even let Asmadeo aside, he was leveling a little bit but still way behind my hero.
I just don't understand, what have I done wrong on the game that I'm trying to level Asmadeo and he is still level 1?

@F-kid Do you have same versions of game on both laptop and desktop pc ? If Asmo get exp on desktop in you`re RSE game, he should lvlup on laptop also because in RSE Asmo weren`t changed at all. You had to change something in his files by mistake maybe.
Try new game on laptop just for 4-5 fights to see will he get any exp, also attack low lvl troops with him (he get more exp if you kill 1-2 lvl enemy units, and more so if they are under pugmy/doom/plague spells). If he still dont get any exp my only idea is to latest patch and hope for best. Good luck :-)

I noticed this problem before, but now in Red sands mod it`s even more :-(
If you use archmage and get him to higher lvl, and some bonus dmg on stats in battle during battle trance he will get 100% dmg but only from his basic 5-8, not including bonus from lvlup. If you get some archmage_staff (or 2, i tried using 3 with warrior just to check) my archmage had 3x20% bonus dmg from staff and +18% from lvl`s so in battle dmg was 9-14. When i use battle trance he should get +100% dmg from but instead 18-28, i got 14-22, so +(5-8 ) got only his basic dmg without any item/lvlup bonuses.
On other side if you use ogre and get his attack from 47 basic, to 100 with lvlup/frenzy/items and use ogre rage, he`ll get 100% bonus attack from his current, not basic attack.
My question for you ppl is, how to make archmage get same bonus as ogre, based on his actual dmg in game, not basic from archmage.txt Same prob happens if you use some +dmg item (poison dagger/whip of ishara) archmage will get dmg from those items, but in battle trance will get bonus from his basic dmg 5-8 :-(
Try checking in scripts special_attacks.lua file and compare Battle mage, and Ogre rage part of file, to figure out how to give same bonus to archmage as ogre have.

Sorry for the delay, I wasn't playing or modding KB in these days.
I uploaded my functioning Orc Saboteur and I added a couple of images showing how I'd like KB to be, that's essentially, more difference in unit dimension with some huge powerful one (The archdemon is casting a mass spell while on the air)
Unfortunately this will remain my dream, or my effort to do, at least for the next king's bounty.
PS: I messed with all units stats, so, after downloading my orc saboteur, look for the original one and replace it's defaul stats (cost, leadership, attack ...)!

As it turns out, it is implemented as Percent of Base in both TL and AP so the developers intended for it to work this way, I guess.
Nonetheless, the change is easy:
Search for special_battle_mage_attack in SPECIAL_ATTACKS.LUA.
Look for the lines that start with Attack.act_apply_dmg... there will be too of them within this function, one for min and one for max. Note that the line goes like this: Attack.act_apply_dmgmin_spell( "magic", 0, power, 0, duration, false ), for min damage.
Change both min and max like this: Attack.act_apply_dmgmin_spell( "magic", 0, 0, power, duration, false ), note how power has essentially swapped with the 0 to the right of it in the original code. Do the same thing to max and save and close and you'll get want you want.
By the way, for most functions that work on a statistic, the order is absolute percent increase, percent of base, and then percent of current. Sounds like a bug, you know, I was never really sure why they didn't just use dmg:
So change dmgmin and dmgmax to just one line:

Lastly, If there is an actual change in the damage, then I go do something, note how I just change the absolute value of the damage. I checked the Ogre's Rage ability and that's how they did their attack. You know, I'm trying to think if I had problems like you're having and then implemented it this way instead. There certainly is a lot of trial and error when making changes like this. You probably don't need to be so thorough for the Archmage, just look in his ATOM and confirm his damage types and work with them directly, no need to cycle through like I did (but this was for all units so that's why I did it the way I did it).

From this place I want to thank with all which they worked near creating "red sands".
I finished translating on Polish some 2 weeks ago and as yet testing and doing correction in my translating. Critical error as yet it hasn't.
I found the only small the mistakes graphic (for example the ice thorn - Ледяная Терния) and this, that after choice of new skill the Asmadeo when we choose the option "finish the conversation" conversation is not finish.
I thank once again and I wish persistence near creating new patch.
I enjoy that Russian forum already up.
I have a problem. Dragon's skill from file "rus_!!!exp_pet_hint":

In game don't display chance to shock probability, number of charges and turn rest. Only damage is correctly show. How it fix?
When I remove "Есть шанс [shoсk] шокировать цель." with file remaining parameters be displayed correctly. Problem is with parameter [shock].

Hi everybody.
I would like to add to Red Sands creatures from legendary warriors mod. I translated files from localization folder on Polish language and I canceled unwanted changes from the version RSE.
I don't know how to add new creatures to shops and to army for defeating. I know that files responsible for it are in the folder locs, but I don't know how to change them.Whether it is possible to do it with the help notepad? What are numbers responsible by creatures in these files for?
Other question: are there appearing in the English version Crossworlds errors with showing statistics of the pet dragon's ability "lightning_ball "?
How to change the maximum level reached by the pet dragon (> 60) so he can to a maximum develop all his abilities? Is it any mod or does somebody know how to change it?

1) first for adding new creatures in mod i cant help you because i tried to add champion from `adventure mod` but failed since you need to copy unit files 4-5 of them, but also need to edit some other files and add text strings so new game include those units in it.
2) lightning ball works from early lvls with no problem, when you get that skill there are no errors in it`s text description. But after lvling it to some point it just start showing skill text without numeric value for dmg/shock/rest/rage but exp gain from skill is correct all time. So you need to add 1 more attack string, and 1 more paralyse string so lightning ball can take values from those lvl`s. I think this should work. You need to set number ofo lvl`s for each ksill with it`s part in this file. Expl : you cant take more then 5 lvl`s for treasure digging skill, since it`s not explained what would those lvl do in this file.
3) for adding more lvl`s for pet you need couple things - find arena.txt file in config folder of red sands mod and in string : exptable=30,60,100,160,230,310,410,530,660,810,980 ,1170,1380,1610,1860,2140,2440,2770,3120,3500,3910 ,4350,4820,5320,5850,6410,7010,7640,8310,9010,9750 ,10530,11350,12200,13100,14040,15020,16040,17110,1 8220,19380,20580,21830,23130,24480,25880,27330,288 40,30400,32010,34070,37000,40000,43000,47000,52000 ,57000,63000,70000
Add more values for lvl`s above 60, for example add 79000,90000,103000, 118000,135000 . . . and so on. Consider that if you play on hard/impossible values for lvlup pet is 15/30% higher then on normal so for my example 135000 exp(65lvl), you`ll need 185000 exp for 65th lvl on impossible difficulty. Also find adventure mod http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=22725&page=11 , and check pet.atom file in it to see how to add more lvl`s for every pet skill. So for lvlup exp values add more numbers in arena.txt, and for skill lvlup find pet.atom file in adventure mod.

1. Ok, but in that case how they add new creatures to Red Sands Extreme?
I checked all files in folder "config" in RSE and I left changes which didn't disturb me. It stayed only adding creatures to files in folder "locs". Am I right? Who knows how to do it? Somebody after all had to do it in RSE.
2. Is not working, because errors with showing statistics of the pet dragon's ability "lightning_ball" I have already on first pet dragon's lighting ball's level. If i remove in file "pol_!!!exp_pet_hint" parameter "[shoсk]"in desciption "spmi_thr_ball_txt" remaininng parameters is showing ok. Unfortunately, then I don't see shock chance in lighting ball statistics. I have a problem with function [shock]. Other polish fan have similar problem.
For check I used english and russian version of this file and it didn't help.
3. Maximum level reached by the pet dragon is 71, so he can to a maximum develop all his abilities.
I add 11 new levels and it's working. I used for the check code: "shift+~" and write "pet 71".
Everything is ok.:-)

1) Well ofc it`s possible to add new units in game send massage to grimeleven or bladeking77 or any other moder who imported some new unit in his/her mod. What i`m sure is that you must add 4 whole files for unit, i`ll example champion from adventure mod :
champion.atom (unit stats and abilities) , champion.png (unit picture) , army_champion.atom (unit model, sound . . . technical things), champion.bma (i have no idea what`s in it) , champion_diff (also no idea what`s it for). But there other files that make unit work in game colision_champion.cms , addon_unit_features.lua (how certain unit special ability works) , eng_units.lng (lists all units and their basic information that are shown when you right click on them in game) , special_attacks.lua (also for unit special abilities) , special_params.txt (lists units that are affected by some item or skill, like inquisitors blade lowering paladin lds etc) , unit_features.lua (explains unit talents and pasive bonuses, like orc adrenaline , or rune mage runic armor, etc) , unit_morale.lua (obviously for unit/race moral bonuses/reductions). So for 1 new units you need 4 new files for that unit, and to change 7 other files to include that unit in future games , and it`s not as simple as copy/paste couple things in locs folder (and why there in first place ???), all unit files start in atom folder, and then scripts folder and so on ...
2) . . . no more ideas :-(
3) i my self made 99 skill lvl`s, but limited pet to 70 so to make some choices what skill to develop in what game , and not getting them all on max I`m glad i helped you at least with this..

1) Everything about you wrote I already did, I singled out 10 folders and proper files from RSE. I little modifying them so that they compatible with Red Sands (I removed modyfication of experience, spells etc. coming from RSE). I used the program winmerge for comparing files and I left only these records which concern new creatures. Everything okay, but analysing the RSE structure I concluded, that in files in the folder locs are determining which creatures, items and in what quantity are available in shops. In RSE in the folder locs you open files debir.embryos and debir_dungeon_1.embryos and you will find them names of new creatures, items etc. What for me from new creatures if not is it possible to buy them and only it is possible to fight with them?
Maybe we must use KB editor to change this files?
P.S.
In RSE mod all creatures are available on Debir. I would like to keep original the setting from Red Sands, and adding the new creatures in suitable stages of game.
Hmm... Azure dragon is not looking good, but Champion is really looking good. Can you place on forum relating champion files which you single out from adventure mod?

If you try to add new creatures in already started game it wont work, you have to add all files concerning some unit, and then start new game so it appears in it. Same as for difficulty lvl you can`t change it mid game, you have to start anew.
Try coping all those files you think are needed and start new game, Maelstrom should appear in main castle on Debir island (its made this way in RSE mod) so you`ll know did you succeed. Because all this mixing of files is reason i stop trying to add champion in my RSE.
In my previous post i listed all files i found mentioning champion unit 5 files just for champion, and 7 more that contain something about units in general : champion.atom , champion.png , army_champion.atom , champion.bma , champion_diff , colision_champion.cms , addon_unit_features.lua , eng_units.lng , special_attacks.lua , special_params.txt , unit_features.lua , unit_morale.lua
Other problem with importing champion in RSE or regular red sands, is his special skills battle spirit that gives him bonus att/def with every hit on/against him and in red sands all humans have passive skill battle spirit that give them % for 1 more turn after acting in that battle round. So i had problem finding all battle spirit strings for champion in `adventure mod`, and renaming them so they wouldn`t conflict with battle spirit talent of all humans in `red sands` , all in all to much problems for importing 1 unit ( bladeking77 did great job with creating new units) but had bad luck naming it`s passive talent same as red sands crew so it`s big trouble to add champion in newer mods.
As for azure dragon it`s interesting unit to play, only if you set it possible to resurrect by inquisitor/demonolog like any other unit in game. In original settings it`s completely magic imune but in difference to black dragon (who are possible to revive inquisitior) you cant keep them alive at all :-( and with their magic scales they can be great tanks for mage hero class who concentrate on spell dmg.

I made small test with we new creatures from my singled out files. When I ignore error in time starting game new creatures appeared in game, but it didn't work properly. When I "create" original mod RSE in Red Sands this same error appeared in time starting game too.

I am playing Red Sands mod 1.6.1 version currently. I have 2 problems, one minor and one major.
1. Minor: Ball of Lightning pet ability description is wrong. I've tried to fix it according to this post from Fatt_Shade:
2) lightning ball works from early lvls with no problem, when you get that skill there are no errors in it`s text description. But after lvling it to some point it just start showing skill text without numeric value for dmg/shock/rest/rage but exp gain from skill is correct all time. So it`s bug , but i have idea how to fix it. Open winrar folder game\sessions\addon\loc_ses.kfs find eng_pet.lng file and set
In my version there isn't any .kfs file, I have folders, subfolders and files, and I don't find any eng_pet.lng file. However this is not so important as my major problem.
2. Human spirit doesn't work at all in my game. When it is triggered, there is a message in text box, there is an animation, but my unit doesn't act again in that turn. Has anyone experienced similar problem? Does anyone know how to solve this?

I fixed prob with fighting spirit in my game but i cant remember which was solution, but i`m sure it`s 1 of those 2 ways. Save mentioned files outside you`re game folder and try 1 way if it doesnt work, load original file, and try second post. Should work , good luck :-)

Thanks, I've tried both and none of them worked. I realized the exact problem: instead of 2nd turn my humans get battle cry buff when battle spirit procs. Description of battle spirit says 2nd turn, but maybe it was too strong ability and in 1.6.1 they changed to battle cry?

Human Fighting Spirit in Red Sands 1.6.1:
Attacking enemy unit, it can with probability 10% raise on 1 round your initiative about 1. Every bonus or punishment to morale raises or it reduces chance about 1%. Giving deadly hit, unit has raised about 3% probability increase your initiative.

1.In Red Sands 1.6.1 you can change "lighting ball" description in file eng_!!!exp_pet_hint.
This file you find in C:\ProgramFiles\1Company\.....\sessions\red_sands\ red_sands_ses or other path when you install this mod.
Open red_sands_ses with winrar, open inside archive folder localization\eng\other and you find them file eng_!!!exp_pet_hint.
In polish version I delete [shock] from description:
"spmi_thr_ball_txt=^int_pet_tH0^Your dragon demonstrates the wonders of magic, calling a ball of lightning onto the battlefield. The ball pursues the enemy, hitting it with a third level lightning spell, causing magical damage equal to [damage2] of the overall health of the troop. There is a [shock] chance to shock the target. Charges: [charges]. [rest][rage] <gen=gen_pet_exp_hint>"
and problem disappeared. Unfortunately, then you don't see shock chance in lighting ball statistics.
Other idea:
Ask your English friends to send you file "eng_pet.lng", change what you want and copy them to folder localization\eng\other in Red Sands.
