Flyby out

That's exactly what I'd recommend. I started building my current rig over a year and a half ago and was told by so many people that I should just wait until BoB comes out even then. I've never built a rig for a specific game (and never will) and ended up with a really good system that has allowed me to play all the other games I wanted to play at high settings (COD4, UT3, etc,) as well as turning up all the eye candy in this sim and have been enjoying things on it for over a year.

I built a core 2 duo E6700 (@3.2) with 2gb RAM and an 8800GTS (upgraded from a 7950GX2). It screams through everything and I haven't regretted it for even a second. Funny thing is, all those guys that recommended I wait have almost all built new rigs since then.

Build a good rig now and simply enjoy it.

X48 chipset mobo
GTX280 GPU
4gb fast DDR3 RAM (Vista), 3gb if using XP
Raptor 150GB HDD (OS)
7200.10 300GB+ for data and game installs
1KW PSU that is PCIE 2.0 compliant (with a pair of 8-pin connectors)

Put it all in a good aluminum user-friendly case and don't look back.
