I would venture to say, that if you can run Crysis at it's highest settings, and everything is smooth and beautiful....then you should be able to run BoB just fine. My 2 cents.

Interesting, as there was an article released a while ago, that Crysis runs on a 400$ PC at high settings with 30-35FPS. The 2nd part will do that even without fiddling around with the settings.

Ok, what about the Grid?

This game looks awesome. The cars are beautiful. The huge crowd even reacts to the action as it happens. Very nice game. I started playing it on medium settings, but it kept locking up my system before I could even finish a lap.

Someone might use something like this for a benchmark to build their system by. If BoB looked as good as Grid, I think all would be pleased.

There is a Grid demo.

WHAT?! It takes 2 9800Gx2's just to run crysis maxed out at 1680x1050 at anything near 35fps!

Urufu, don't argue with FeuerFalke. He is the forum expert(spammer), and he is always right.

Now apologize.

and it's 1680 x 1050.

Optimizations made to Crytek's CryENGINE 2 will allow the upcoming sci-fi shooter follow up Crysis Warhead to run smoothly with high detail settings on cheap PCs, studio CEO Cevat Yerli has claimed.

Specifically, Yerli told German outlet PC Games that a 400 euro (roughly $620) PC could run the title, with high settings enabled, at 30 to 35 frames per second. Curiously, he did not detail the resolution at which this is possible.

http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/53217

My machine runs Crysis on medium settings
8800gt
Core 2 duo
3 gig ram
at resolution 1440 x 900.
If they are entering Alpha stage now with SOW BoB the current top range system specs should do.
Running Il2 at 1440 x 900 with everything maxed out in the config file and I get frame rates of 35 to 75.
So high end machines make little difference to Il2 but hopefully SoW will make the investment worth while.
Ps I do not expect to run SoW maxed out considering Nvidia have released a whole new range of cards faster than their 9800x2

Not taking sides

It's soooo much easier to flame people than to actually use 5 seconds of google. There's a nice saying in Germany: If you point 1 finger at somebody else, 4 are pointing at you.

Title: Crysis Warhead Runs On A €400/$620,- dollar system!
Post by: Smartino on June 20, 2008, 12:16:13 AM
I got this little piece of news from a Dutch site and I translated it. What do you guys think?
Crysis: Warhead runs on a PC of 400 Euros = 620.16 U.S. dollars.
Crysis is known as the game which did not run that smooth, even not on high-end systems. Crysis: Warhead should not know this problem. The game tells the same story as that of Crysis, but then from the point of view of the English marine Psycho. According to Cervat Yerli, the boss of Crytek, changes to the engine, which can also be applied to Crysis have been carried out. According to Yerli it is possible for Crysis: Warhead to run on a PC that only costs €400.
The game should than be running at 30-35 frames peer second on high settings.

I think this is awesome news! I voted maybe though, cause it probable but I think the performance will be a bit lower than Cevat says... you never know though!
