Celestial navigation is a must for immersion in my humble opinion, especially if we see a night war addon somewhere down the road. However, don't expect it to be more accurate than your gyro compass, it just provides a rough estimate to where the north lies in case your instruments get shot out or damaged.

Now if we had some plotting and navigating instruments when flying bombers things would be different. Obviously, these would need to be disabled in fighters for realism's sake.

It shouldn't be that hard, since it's already been done in another Ubisoft product, Silent Hunter 3. Of course, the stars there are all the same color, small white dots, while in reality stars have varying colors and mangitudes, but it still is very nice to pump up time compression, go to the U-boat's bridge and watch them rotate around the north star just like it is in real life. Also, the same plotting tools found in SH3 plus a stopwatch would be all that's needed to model a navigator's station for a bomber.
