Just remembered. The mirror is defuncked so you can turn it off and gain 5-10 more frames (hit M).

Don't know if it's default but I got my console mapped to "z".
If it doesn't work for you then check key assignment for Console something.
When you activate the console you will see white overlayed text to the left on the screen. The game (if offline) will pause.
In the console type "fps START SHOW" without the quotes.
To remove the counter and reset it, open console and type "fps STOP HIDE" without the quotes.

You'll find the Black Death track by clicking EXTRA > TRACKS (in the game menu) and then select it and load. Writing from memory so hope it's correct.

i heard a rumor today from a buddy at another sim site that there are issues with ATI graphics and that disabling the Epilepsy splash screen works well to optimize frames.

Quote:
if you use an ati card, a tip is to delete the ubisoft splash screen logo thats within the games root folder. Apparently it underclocks your card and the game may be percieved as a desktop application as opposed to something else. thats the theory atleast for underperforming ati based graphics.
is there any truth to this?

It's true or was true. Dunno the current status.
Read more here and search the forum for in depth.

Turn off the epilepsy filter in the game.

You can not get rid of the warning screen but hitting the space bar twice will speed it up.

In the beginning(when the game only ran in pseudo full screen mode) some ATI users found that the Ubi logo at the beginning would cause some cards not to go to full 3d speed. The card would stick to 2d speeds.

Supposedly when they went to a full screen mode this problem went away.Although some claim it is still there.

You can get rid of the logo by renaming the logo.wmv file.

OK - thanks everyone - with all of the suggestions - including the removal of starting movie, i am getting 40 FPS average on Black death track.

I just flew the bomber london intercept at 29FPS smooth.

I appreciate all the help. Loving the game now.
