I almost exclusively fly the 109s (as most people have probably noticed), because the FW190s and American planes are so poorly modeled in the console version. Until I got the 109K model -- I only flew the G6, as it makes up for my lack of gunnery skills with serious firepower. After a few weeks of disproportionate beat-downs from Hurri IIs, Spits, and La-5's -- I changed the way I was flying -- and stopped trying turn with everyone. As soon as I did this -- I started doing more killing than dying, and thus finally earned the K model alot sooner than I thought I would. I now fly with the K model, and while I don't get near the number of kills as the turn-fighters get -- I rarely ever get shot down anymore, because I've learned the fine art of "running away". If I can't get you at the beginning of the turn, I just break off, haul ass away, turn around, and fly back in for another chance. I've just about got the head-on attack down to a science (since it represents the majority of my opportunities). In a head-on fly-by with just about any allied models, you will be throwing down alot more lead than they are. Most of them will always try to follow, and once I get about 5000 feet away, I just turn around and the game of chicken begins. If you've ever flown against TUR-KISH, he uses the same tactic. To be sure, this isn't as fun as turning in circles -- but if you are going to fly this plane -- its just the way it is.

I prefer the K model, as its the best for my style of flying and skill level.
