I believe I saw a vid showcasing this that during early morning, late evening you can see the lights, but as it switches to darker outside, the lights turn off so that during the night, it's pitch black.

How about sitting in a Heinkel/Ju88/Stuka and being the rear gunner holding off some spits, I have not seen anyone rotate the gunners window?

I would, but I dont know how to set the settings for use of gunners. i can change the seats and use the "click mouse on the trigger button to fire" but thats all. When the EU version is released I will

Yes. The blackout.
No lights were allowed at all. Not just during air raids.
Curtains had to be closed, and light proofed.
