requiring takeoff after completing a capture isn't enough to prevent 2 planes on the ground. There's also landing to stop a capture in progress. ... sorry but more details to hammer out: when a bomber returns to its side of the map, what exactly is its side? Past its own bunkers? |

* How about: if the territory of interest for capture is badly damaged (10 targets were previously destroyed in Strategic Bombing) then, the CTA matches will take place in a single airfield map. If the territory was not successfully bombed, then, CTA matches will take place in 2 airfield maps. Wether the map is from Britain or the USSR will depends on who is defending the territory. It will either be like this example I just mentioned or just play each match according to the territory to capture no matter if there is only 1 airfield or two. * Bomber return to base: yes, the bomber icon has to be behind friendly lines, that is near or behind the blue markers which represent your teams ground targets. That is why I ask for a screenshot of the landed bomber with the map open (the map is transparent and I will be able to see the plane and its speed and bombs. * Capturing Airfields: If you are capturing an airfield and the percentage progress stops that means the enemy has landed. I guess you can stay there and wait for your enemy to be destroyed, but I dont want to see a plane landed after the airfield has been captured and when the closest enemy is not even near the airfield or is busy engaging your team mate in a dogfight. Understand? Of course we can go on with what if situations but I think that I am clear in what I mean. My main problem has been solved by not allowing bombers because I remember playing CTA and bombers would just rest on an airfield and shoot down any enemy getting near the airfield. [edit] dont worry about questions, ask all the details necessary. I at least want you to understand all rules because USSR is now your responsibility. Any questions that may arise on your private website I will be happy to answer. If you understand these rules, then, I will assume USSR team understands them. Also, you can supervise that I am not bending the rules so USSR knows I am not favoring UK team Last edited by edal86; 01-10-2010 at 08:27 AM. |

Successful bombing already gives an advantage to the attacker via rules, but a single runway handicaps both sides. With 8 players it's like an air show by the 3 stooges, the marx brothers and laurel and hardy. The runway disappears in a haze of smoke I hope the penalty for ramming bombers is for deliberate collision as opposed to accidents, if you attack a bomber intelligently with a weave pattern there's bound to be occasional collisions. |

* I dont believe in accidents in this tournament, either you ram an enemy bomber or you dont. You guys will just have to be extra careful when attacking bombers. Of course, it may happen without intention but you can always prevent this. Only if the bomber player reports this as intentional then I will punish the rammer as I stated. Remember bombers are worth 5 deaths for a reason (so they want to stay alive). In the case that the bomber player reports this but does not find that you did it intentionally I will still have to demote the rammer at least 1 rank * CTA matter: I have to find a way for this. yes its true, a successful strategic bomber already helps the attacker in CTA. I will let you know or mention it on the actual Briefing objective |

Finally, I was able to create an animated signature with GIMP (it appears to be free a very simple to use) hehe
All members of my flight please use my animated signature this way I can update your rank (I sent you a PM with the image URL) * I know the orange advertisement may not be very appealing but since you guys are in my flight you will help me advertise this tournament LOL, sorry Last edited by edal86; 01-11-2010 at 03:31 AM. |

Attention UK Team players.
I got a response from an administrator regarding private threads. * It turns out that we can create User Groups that can only be accessed if you receive an invitation. I created one already titled -- "Battle for Europe" - RAF Squadron -- * I have started to invite you guys, so please check this out. |

I doubt anyone is really ready, if you were to ask everyone on both teams what the rules are, I doubt even 1/3 of them would be able to tell you.
There's no German translation of the rules, I don't know if varcus2 and olife- have seen them, and Mirgervin apparently doesn't have a pc and can't figure out how to use his ps3's web browser. But nobody is gonna pay any more attention than they already are unless it starts. So we're as ready as we're gonna be. The bomber collision penalty will force attackers to park on the 6 like idiots. Charging the 5 deaths to the fighter's side instead of the bomber's, regardless of the collision's cause, would be as effective a deterrent to ramming, without also being a deterrent to attacking properly. Attacking a bomber without getting hit requires making close passes. this is what I mean: in particular the pass leading up to 0:57 (a kill, though it might not show if it plays slow.) Impossible for the gunner to hit, gets the best angle on the engines and wings. There is always risk of collision, but it's not as much risk as being in the gunner's cone. |
