If this was CoD would this be a MOD or a Hax?

Well since that is a V.A.C. enabled stadium I would assume it's a mod...
Also, much respect to the runner in question. |

Speaking as an amputee, I can assure you that no sane person would elect to have their legs removed below the knee in order to become a 'better runner'.

Today might still be a bit early but, rude or not, I also believe that we'll see a lot of implants and augmentation in the near future. We already do it with our brains and tools we use instead of just thinking. Like calculators etc. So although some great math geniuses might be proud of their "naturally given" ability to calculate - most of us give a damn about it because it's easier, better, to rely on tools.
Now, today we're just at the beginning of all that. We're barely beginning to transplant limbs, replace them with real ones or mechanical ones. We're also beginning to transplant eyes though and in a couple of years many will eventually want the full 360° package with nightvision and thermospectral capabilities. Who knows? Fact is, this runner certainly makes it clear that artificial limbs can be at least absolutely equal to real ones under certain conditions. If research continues then eventually even better. What that means is for up to each own to decide I guess. Also, I do know an amputee and also a disabled person and what they truly want is to be treated equally. There's nothing rude about saying an opinion like that. Eventually people will get so used to it, like to piercings, that it's normal. Body modification IS a topic of the future. For sure. |
