Default Suggestion: Un-forced realism options online.

Had a quick fly in a few servers earlier (when I could get MP to work) and found that every server I entered had 'Head-Shake' disabled in the realism options. Fair enough, it's their server and their rules. But for me disabling the head movement makes the whole feel very clunky, agricultural and fake. So how about letting the player enable the more 'realistic' options for themselves?

I'm not suggesting players can start enabling icons or easy engine management etc in a full real server, only that in a server with more relaxed settings the player can increase the realism for themselves.

Seems an agreeable suggestion, especially if it is included as an option for the host (ie "allow individual players to increase realism").

In regards to CEM in particular, this brings up another question. Can someone with CEM enabled squeeze more out of their aircraft than someone who does not?

I think this would make it more complex then it need to be.

We would have 100s of posts on the forum asking
"WTH?! Everyone has stable heads online apart from me????!!!! WTH?!!"

Because people will accidentally enable these options if they are there. People are idiots and we do need to keep things as simple as possible.

Just wait a few months until there are better servers for you in abundance.

I don't share your logic and conclusion..
I think it's a good idea to be able to increase the realism if you want to.

There was something similar in Il2 - icon settings, you could turn them of, even if they were turned on on the server.

this, definately this. The general idea to let one make one's realism settings harder (but not easier) seems okay for me, but as he said... people are just idiots these days. So you might produce more trouble than its worth, sadly.

Surprised you can't do that already! In il2 I flew without the hdg/speed/alt HUD even in servers that allowed it.

Default agree

I was expecting a post like that since the releaso of Clod.
Im not specially confortable with the headshake implementation in this game, because in some circumstances is overdone.
In dcs series, you can choose between "head g forces" that makes your head moves in a similar way to what we have in Clod, but if you disable this, you will have a very natural camera motion, not at all a static camera, but much more stable.
Let me explain:
I dont want to play with no head-shake, because is absolutely ugly and unnatural. But im not agree with the way in wich is implemented in game.
I think we should have much more options. Specially for "ground stabilization" . If you have noticed, Clod will move your head until your plane gets certain angle , stabilizing the view to stay parallel with the ground. This is very good while taxing on ground because you plane will bounce but your head will remain stable. But i feel it conflicts with my trackir experience, were the neck angle gives you all info about were are you looking. So if you are starting a climb you view will stay more horizontal ( do not confuse it with view lag or g movements) than your plane climbing angle.
The same with bank movement. Until your plane bank more than 45º, your view will stay slighty more parallel to the ground, more than 45º, then it will follow the plane 100%. IN WINGS OF PRAY THIS IS OPTIONAL ,AND DOES NOT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH DIFFICULT SETTINGS. Why cant we have that in CLOD? I mean shakes g effects etc... but no ground compensation , or a slider, so you can experiment with it, perhaps with the time you are used to it and you like it.Im at 50% , under certains conditios i like, other times do not. Also, that is something that i can do with my trackir, so sometimes is redundant.
On the other hand , Head Shakes ( which we understand as head vibrations , specially in translation) does have the same taste for wind guts, engine failures , overspeed. And it has a very quick frequency, that feels unnatural too. If you are running in a car with a very old engine, over an extremely irregular road, you will notice all those bumps, but your brain-ear-muscles eyes, will stabilizes your view.In Clod if your engine is damaged your head will have a annoying, irritating movement.I would like to have modeled panels/cockpit vibration (like in the fsx dornier 17) instead of so much head shaken. Also wind guts , stall buffet etc... should be distinguishables, no the same effect.

Other than all those thoughts, Im with you. Server shoud has "user preference" if the server wants . And view sistem need more tweak and more options/user preferences.

I agree. The rolling movement in CoD I actually dislike. Doesn't feel at all natural, and has a weird lazy effect whereby the motion on-screen tends to lag behind then suddenly catch up with the player's aircraft during a roll....very weird; like a two-stage effect. But it comes part and parcel with 'head shake' unless we get a further option to eliminate the roll aspect of it like DCS.

Thumbs up

Sure Lixma, i hope 1c give us some alternative, and we dont have to wait months or years to have a mod that doesnt anticheat filters so is only for online.
Im sure that this issue does bother other pilots too, but due to his nature its difucult to explain or inclusive detect, i have read some peoples complaining about unstable view or problems with track ir, because they doesn't know exactly what is happening with the new views movement.

I know of a server where realism will be the only language spoken.
