Default Windows Security

OK, when I try to open properties of my controllers in Win 7 64 bit now, I get a Windows Security message: these files can't be opened.

Your internet security settings prevented these files from being opened.

I haven't changed anything, how do I remove these restrictions? the windows "help" is of no help.

I think this may be a reason why I cant get CoD to recognise the controllers.........

Try turning off Windows User access (UA) temporarily and see if that solves the issue.

Try right clicking on the file/folder and choose ( Run as Administrator )
If that doesn't work you may need to log on as Adminstrator.

Its a single computer with a single user, I am the administrator, I switch it on and log in with a password....is that not enough?

Probably not. To access and adjust what Win 7 sees as essential files you need to use the right-click, Run as Administrator option.
Try going to Control Panel\System and Security\Action Center and change the level at which UAC functions.

On second thoughts, what internet security are you using?
