Windows Security

OK, when I try to open properties of my controllers in Win 7 64 bit now, I get a Windows Security message: these files can't be opened.

Your internet security settings prevented these files from being opened.

I haven't changed anything, how do I remove these restrictions? the windows "help" is of no help.:confused::confused:

I think this may be a reason why I cant get CoD to recognise the controllers.........

Try turning off Windows User access (UA) temporarily and see if that solves the issue.

Strange the same security settings that won't let me go to properties in My Controllers, won't let me change my UAC settings either........

Try right clicking on the file/folder and choose ( Run as Administrator )
If that doesn't work you may need to log on as Adminstrator.

Its a single computer with a single user, I am the administrator, I switch it on and log in with a password....is that not enough?

Probably not. To access and adjust what Win 7 sees as essential files you need to use the right-click, Run as Administrator option.
Try going to Control Panel\System and Security\Action Center and change the level at which UAC functions.

On second thoughts, what internet security are you using?
