I must admit that I have an opinion: intellectual property (of any kind, not only about games) should always be respected. This has nothing to do with grinding axes. And I participate to this forum without any agenda, nor any hidden aim.

I don’t know if Eries is right, but your aggressiveness is disconcerting. Even if everything you said were true (and I don’t think it is...) now there is a small group of people working for no profit to improve our beloved game with Oleg blessing. What we have seen so far of their work is – in my opinion – very good and promising. Daidalus people can have different priorities than you or me, but they deserve our respect and our gratitude.
C’mon, don’t be so angry and have some optimism!

Vota Communista... Been there done that.

Also, conversations about MODS is still prohibited. We (moderatorrs) try to allow some leniency and there is always someone that "just has to take advantage".

It is one thing to talk about addons done with Oleg's approval, another to talk about non-approved stuff.

There are plenty of forums, which allow you to discuss your interests in that area with no restraints. Please, take those discussions there.

MOD discussions are still prohibited on this forums until we get the word otherwise.

1C:Maddox has distanced from that crowd and I doubt it will change for any non-approved addons.

Further discussion on this thread about prohibited content will be cause to delete the thread, the thread will not be locked.

Oleg has distanced himself from the crowd, except the ones he is using to help with SOW.

Thank-you, I prefer to stay here and talk of legitimate add-ons.
As I understood, from now on all Il2 development is entrusted to Daidalus people, with supervision only by 1C. What do you think of a dedicated thread for questions and requests for Daidalus people, much like Oleg’s Room? After all, with Oleg we talk about SOW, and this is still an Il2 forum...

p.s. the correct Italian spelling is "Vota Comunista"...

I think you need to re-read what I've written and tell me again how I've been discouraging towards Daidalus and their efforts towards 4.09.

Where I come from you have to earn respect and gratitude. So far I've paid my fees for the products many many times over. I think I've purchased 6 copies so far.

Who says I'm angry?

Just calling it like I see it man.

Your obvious frustration and lack of respect for 1C and thier team had made me wonder why you even come to these forums. But after a few posts by you I started to catch on.

My humble opinion is that you are dissed modder who is unhappy that 1C isnt a slave to your personal vision and/or you feel slighted that you didnt make it on the Daedalous ( sp?) Team.

It seems the 1C forums isnt a place for you. It'd be in everyones interest if you just ran along. Thats now my obvious agenda, and I'm certainly proud of it.

My apologies to the moderators here for my frank talk. Thanks

Glad to see someone is a fan and you've done a great job of accusing and labling me as a modder.

There is nothing humble about your opinion. Your name calling and accusations are unfounded and nothing more than an expression of your frustration with someone who has a differing opinion.

You've caught on to nothing. I don't even know who you are and you certainly don't know me so please stop with the personal attacks.

If you have a different opinion then I suggest you stay away from attacking the poster and address the content of the Post. This is a forum and you have a right to your opinion but so far all it's been is name calling from you.

In terms of your suggestion that I be removed I would ask you why? I have only stated business decisions that I didn't like. I also would rather see some of those things fixed in 4.09 instead of continuing to add more content with their own problems.

If you can't see some of the left over stuff then it's pretty obvious you haven't been flying this game for very long.

Simple cleaning up and fixing existing issues would be fine by me.

As an SoW requirement then yes its essential, only as as a marketing point as its something else that helps sell the game.
Rubbish aye? Hmm all of the stock cockpits are still available in 4.08 and with the 6DOF mod they don't break. How do you explain that?

You state he didn't have the Time/Resources/Money which may be true and he had to focuse elsewhere why could it have not been added to the 3 following releases that we now call IL2 1946?

You may not know this but it was offered by the guys at Naturalpoint to do the work for them.

Actually he was worried about folks cheating and looking through cockpits etc. He didn't know this at the time but you can put in limits for the TIR so that it doesn't clip the cockpits. That's exactly what was done.

No rebuilding of the pits was nessary.... it's working now on all of the stock 4.08 pits.

Regardless if you think a TIR is essential is irrelavant. It was an option that he chose to ignore it.

The good news is SOW is supposed to support TIR in 6DOF which if you haven't used it... it's pretty dang nifty being able to look around your bars with a simple lean.

I didn't research this thoroughly so take it with a grain of salt, but i think one of the TD guys was making cockpits for the AAA mod team. I could be wrong of course, but the most possible way i would be wrong is if he wasn't involved with TD at all, as i know for a fact he was a cockpit modeller for mod aircraft.

In a simple words, what would you choose (for the same price): a car modified by, say, Brabus, or the same car modified by some greasy guy from a garage next door?

Certainly, there is a small probability, that this greasy guy can do things as good as an "official" industry, but in this case, he usually would turn into something like Brabus very soon.

So, something like this happened to the DT. Unfortunately, there is no one in the modder community, who could reach their level so far.
I don't disagree with that, that's what i was saying all along and that's the defining factor between TD and the unofficial mods. For example, a mod plane could have a truckload of polygons because they don't need to stick to certain standards, an officially patched add-on plane will have a certain set of guidelines to follow, like running on older systems for example.

For me it's all good. I have loads of new content of varying quality to experiment with, i don't have to fly the low quality content if i don't like it and i can always find a server to cater to my needs as far as a fun and realistic scenario goes. As far as nobody is stealing 1c's money or making money by modifying their code i don't have an issue with it. The implementation was done by following a dangerous path and not the most desirable one, but in the end i think that self-policing worked for a substantial part of the community.

Some of that content is not so good (for example, slapping a generic cockpit to each and every ex-AI plane and making it flyable), some of it is commendable like flyable heavies with add-on cockpits, and some of it is downright impressive even it's not official (FW190A3 anyone?). I'm pretty sure i'll be equally impressed with the Italian birds in 4.09, i can't wait to fly the SM79. The more the merrier i say and if we get working radar and some late war twins (the mossie and the 88 families are some of my favorite aircraft), we could have a night fighter campaign for the first time ever. I can keep flying IL2 for the next couple of years with all that, it sure helps the time pass until SoW is finished

Official FW190 bar fix = great.

About 6DOF in cockpits, I know that somebody at AAA works on some "Java classes" as I understood to close all the holes that appears because it was not modelized with 6DOF in mind.

Thoses fixes works pretty well. Of course, it would've been easier if 1C had released some tools to do the work easier and better.

Glad though that they finally decided to delegate the work to TD.
Glad also that at least one TD modder is an AAA used guy. He'll be able to see what's good and what's not in AAA's content, contact the makers of the good things and implement them officially in the sim. Patience is a virtue and time will tell. Let's see what happens in two weeks.
