With due respect to the others in this thread, I'll throw in my 2 cents.
First of all, your monitor's native resolution is 1920x1080. Not only should that be the first resolution you try, it will be your best resolution as far graphics quality in your game. This is because LCD's are not as scale-friendly as CRT monitors. Now, I recommend you check out the link below.
