I've been following the updates closely and cannot recall a promise to deliver the patch "in nine days". Please post a link.

I'm really tired...
This company don't have my respect until this game is fixed. All fanboys can talk a lot of nonsense now, i don't care. 1C and/or MG are redoing all graphics engine, it's clear. They sold us a really bugged sim based in a really bugged engine. We all know that. With time all this mess will be solved, but the respect, sorry... will take MUCH more time to be earned again... It's a shame... |

Map making is outsourced, they have said that already but I think the "new" planes we see now have been around for a while, and/or have been outsourced too. How long since anyone seen a new cockpit ? I just dont think they have been working constantly. The ratio of time spent over results is huge. The difference between BoM an CoD is a few aircrafts and a map, since they both will (hope!) be fused together eventually, it's the same program. There are other considerations of course, like campaign and mission making, FM/DM tweaking for the new planes and such but it's the same GUI, same clouds, same trees, the same weather, same graphics, sound, same track recorder, same AI, etc... Luthier is no more to blame for this than Obama is to blame for the 2008 financial crisis. Its the previous guy, the one that created the mess that is to blame. I wish them the best, they are very courageous to keep going like that. If Luthier has grey hair, I know where they come from... I still remember being sure to play CoD in 2006...And I'm still hoping because goshdarn it, I love that DM, it is so satisfying ! That has not been equaled yet. Lou

Guys you know as well as I... They are damned if they do and damned if they dont... Everything is so heated around here over the last year...
There was a long long wait between patches from the last official to 1st DX10 alpha patch and then a lot of activity and communication around that patch and the subsequent mini-patch. The issues and priorities have NOT changed as far as I can tell, its just that we had a bunch of activity around the last patch and got our hopes up (understandably) for some quick turn arounds on the remaining issues. Just because they have gone quiet doesnt mean they havent made progress. I dont know if you noticed but Blacksix is in here pretty much every day now and doing his best to communicate a) what he is allowed to talk about and b) answering questions he can answer without creating a storm of speculation given his new english speaking skills. Its a much tougher job than moderating I can assure you. (and thats saying something for sure!) Im sure the team is under a lot more internal pressure to get the job done than we realise, both from the commercial perspective and their own high expectations and hopes. Remember they are enthusiasts like you and me. It is not just a job, its a passion. They and the studio could have walked away from this long long ago before it was even released. They have stuck at it with determination to see the vision fulfilled. Making somewhat slow progress, but progress none the less that many had not given them the slightest chance of making. Please remain patient..... I mean really... please, as in, I and they all know its a big ask to be so patient for so long. Hopefully we will get some of the news we have been hoping for today. If not, it's because they havent quite got things to where they want them but they wont give up and I truly hope you wont give up supporting them either. This project has been a labour of love for all involved, each individual developer, and each one of us. There's been an awful lot of pain involved but hopefully soon we will be on the way to happier times for all. ![]() Last edited by FS~Phat; 06-29-2012 at 04:40 AM. |

Where in my post did I say they were delivering a patch in nine days time? Please post the link? I said B6 said it would take 3 days each to fix the Grass/Trees/Clouds and I stick by that because he did say this. Unfortunately this was about 4 weeks ago now and unless you took a vacation you would have seen it for yourself if you follow things so closely.

I believe Oleg's dream sim suffered from the weakness of todays average computer, trying to enable to many highly complex features, poor coding via the modulation system, and optimization. The modulation system makes its easier to code, find, and change the code when required, but putting the code together without stutters or CTD's seems to be a problem. I know the code wasn't all bad, COD worked rather well on my highly optimized system from the first day of release, if you ignore the gameplay issues. Hopefully Luthier team will be able to optimize the recent code update, as the future of the sim rides on it.
