Yes we are sure. The devs stated this quite some time ago. Thats why some of us - including me - are constantly repeating this to avoid the big scream afterwards like "6 months of work and everything looks the same?!?! What have the devs done the whole time WTF?!"
MAYBE there are some changes here and there, but nothing drastic I suppose.
They are working on the inner code of the engine, luthier called it like "under the hood" working.
So pls don't expect any changes or even a whole new look. We are just assuming that some graphical changes were made due to the long working period of over 6 months on the recoding of the engine. But nothing is promised!

Not sure how posting some footage would be a bad thing, we'd be able to see the degree of performance improvement for comparable machines if the spec for the machine used to record the video was posted.

The graphics engine is being reworked, true. It is the engine, ie the programming hidden beneath all the gloss, that is being reworked not the actual textures etc. The developers could post any footage from the many teasers and trailers from years back (With any stutters edited out) and we would be none the wiser.

Think of it like replacing the engine in a car..... the car will still look exactly the same but the performance will be greatly increased.

The car engine/car appearance analogy is a good one. I'm hoping the improved performance will enable heavier cloud formations to be used, especially in online play, without the current massive hit in frame rates. It would certainly add to the realism and immersion, plus radically change the dynamics of gameplay for the better, IMHO.

That would be great as clouds are the big performance killer for me at the moment..... but having them present really adds to immersion. what I am really clinging to is the mad hope I'll be able to switch those shadows on. I have noticed that, even on my humble PC, I am getting an average FPS of around 56 on ATAG and yet on ACG, which uses a lot of clouds, I am lucky if I scrape by on 21 fps.

At the risk of sounding like a total "Fanboy", I am deeply in love with this simulator, warts and all. When the patch finally arrives I may even start a rudimentary religion in its honour.

Nice catch. Missed that completely. On replay, noticed at 1:35 that there's TWO of 'em! Fight's on!
