I bought an OCZ Petrol 128GB last week, it was only 120€ which is very cheap for a SSD of that size in this country. I use a Seagate External Storage 2TB for all my storage needs so no problem if the SSD is not so big. SSD FTW!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be lookng for a second SSD in a couple of months time to go with my Crucial C300 128Gb. Running out of space

Having just had my 1 t/b back up h/d fail i would be interested in seeing how much more reliable these ssd will be.
Prices will come down in time. |

Reliability on most SSD's are high mostly because the lack of moving/degrading parts. Just make sure to NEVER defragment your SSD as it is not necessary and because it will degrade the SSD if you do it over a period of time.

I recently had a SSD fail just out of waranty. An instant and complete write-off.
As always the best stategy for data security is to make sure you have multiple backups of important data. Cheers! |
