Default Skirmish Co-Op help needed

Hello everybody,

a few days ago four friends and I bought this great game on steam and went - after watching a few newbie tutorials on youtube to the coop gameplay with the skirmish maps.

At the beginning the missions as such were great fun to us but one issue came up which pretty much screwed all the fun on the long term and most of our group refuses to play this again until I find a solution for the issue.

But now straight to the point:

We are a bit overwhelmed with the tedious amount of work required to get new units.
For example player 3 orders a squad infantry and they are nicely devided between all of our players (in the worst case). While the battle at the front lines need our attention we use a big chunk of the gametime in trying to talk it out who has to give what to whom. Often one of us is so distracted by the battle it ends in "nice" waiting times on the units or in the need to repeat this "who has to give what to whom"... Just tedious...

This game as such is so "thought thrugh", there can only be one reason for our mess: we do it utterly wrong.

So my question to you veterans is quite simple, how do you manage this issue, is there any way (a mod maybe) I can turn this unit sharing off or at least give all units to only one player, who might act as some supporter for the rest of the team who is actively fighting?

I really hope you can help me with our problem, it would be a shame to let this gem of a game down because of this

Thx in advance
