cheers mate, if i could afford upgrade i would, and your not the first person to say it so might be trying to get an early xmas pressie

any recommendations for a budget card?

Well, I got an AMD 6950 2GB and flashed it into a 6970 (slightly dodgey thing to do).
But there's been more problems with AMD than NV.
Most now solved.

NV 560ti would be as good.

Neither are cheap ;(
