Don't think so.

IMHO chosing eastern front is a sign of things going worse than expected.

Instead of going for a theatre that would sell the expansion worldwide, instead of adding american planes, they go back to ussr vs germs, which can sell good in these two countries, but not so good anywhere else.

I don't want to be right, but I'm afraid this russian expantion may be the last.
Like grab some money from where you easily can and gtfo?
I'm willing to bet Russia is a bigger market than the USA, at least in the case of CoD.
C'mon...it's not like we didn't think there would be an eastern front at some point, right?
Does it really matter if it's next on the list or only later on?

If...

If it was not for the war of wars, probably your parents or grandparents would not have coupled; and if they had, their financial world would have been so different as to cast doubt on the conception of all born after that time.

And just as you and I are most likely to be the product of lucky events, out of our time, so the creative minds that make this game are out of our control, and in the minds of geniuses, whose parameters we are not fit to guess at.

The 1C team have proven themselves in the past, why should we betray them with lack of faith now?

I don't think that drive by expressed a lack of faith, just urgency, and priority.

IL-2 is a Russian franchise, made by Russian developers with a very large Russian fanbase. That was first released back in 2001 featuring the Eastern front of WW2 (Russia and Germany).

And you're wondering why Russia will be in it?

That's funny, I see it as a natural progression because it's what happened next. Barbarossa would be the next logical step because it shares existing AC types. That and it follows the historical time line

Agh? There was fighting in the Med (ie Greece and North Africa) before Barbarossa. As for a/c, the same a/c types as in the BoB.
