Imperial Japan lost the day they opened the wider Pacific war.

A. They commited all their reserves from the outset.

C. The Imperial Japanese military was a totally tactical one. Once they had taken all there initial gains, in the first six months of the war they had no way to capitalize on their success. In short, they didn't have a chance to win.
