I think the CoD patches are fast tracked because Activision have a lot of eggs in the CoD basket and a lot of financial clout. They need CoD to succeed, especially after their CEO's flagrant disregard for his customers. Also, Sony has to accept partial responsibility for green lighting such an obviously buggy patch in the first place.
BoP has never been as broken as CoD is right now.

What is buggy about COD? MW2?
I've played mostly all the way through and they only thing I have seen is a framerate drop (once that I noticed) during a very heavy gun fight.
