oh so negative and sarcastic, tsk tsk. At least this is some renewed promise its coming out, despite the posters posing as 505 insiders. At this point anything that positively says "its still coming" is awesome to me, though obviously a firm date would be better.

I don't think the guy you reference is trying to be a jerk; I think he's just voicing legitimate concern.

Words are cheap, as has been demonstrated over the month of October. And every time the discord in the community has reached fever-pitch, we've been treated to fine words, such as now.

I think that is a reasonable concern because unless these latest words are followed up by action, we might be at the start of another cycle of misinformation.

For example, for the last week or so, I was the impression that the hold-up was with the publisher. Apparently not, as it is back in QA before -- implying it was RETURNED to the developer to fix and then resubmit.

So, Anton addressed this board on 10/26, blaming the hold-up on the publisher and whining that they were making the patch out of their own money. So, we're supposed to believe that in a week, the patch was returned to them by the publisher, they fixed it, and now it is back in QA?

That makes no sense to me.

My post of "AWESOME!" was being mocked so I *mildly* mocked back, welcome to the internets. Anyway yeah words are cheap, and I agree its a reasonable concern but I'm not as pessimistic because I think this is consistent with what Anton said previously. Last week he said that the patch was held up because of network issues with the PS3 and was with the publisher. Its reasonable to extrapolate that the pub has sent it back to Q&A to have those issues fixed and things are moving, albeit maddeningly slowly, consistently with what Anton has said and I think thats cause for optimism. Besides this forum needs some optimism, for the last two days almost every thread has been a battle btw optimists and pessimists (and a few trolls); its getting tiresome. Also we have been promised something definite: big news next week. Thats not as good as the patch itself, but its not silence and its not an announcement of the patch being dropped, after some dark days and people leaving the game, anything positive to me is cause for celebration. BoP ain't dead yet!

Relax guys (and girls) the tension from waiting for this patch seems to making everyone a bit tetchy, I meant no offence to you Doktor and I know you didnt mean any to me, both our views are legitimate after all arnt they!

I first joined this forum about a month ago now and even then there were rumours about a patch coming out in a week, in fact at that point it had just gone into QA for the first time! YES I thought, a week at most! A month later, its gone into QA again, and YES! A week at most? Doubt it. But if it does come out in a week, I will go out and drink myself silly in the student union to celebrate.

The only thing that really bugs me is how sometimes I expload at spawn instantly for no reason, and recently if I crash and no-one is near me or has hit me someone gets a kill (?).

Oh and IiI Gunny IiI, the game DOES work, its not like it wont load or anything. The old Sinclair ZX Spectrum hardly worked and people still loved what it could do, cant you do the same?

Wink well

The lawn mower would not have to be completely dead for me to take it back.
If the sputtered ,stalled, and ran "LIKE IT WAS NOT TESTED ENOUGH "Then I would still take it back.AND if they said it would be fixed in a week and I was still waiting after a month Ya I would get my money back!!!!

Totally, and no worries. Mainly I want the kills/crash thing, wheel brakes and fuel load modeling to get fixed. Those three things will improve the game A LOT.

yes this and G-locks/red-outs along with proper stick layout/mapping will take this game to a whole new level

god i cant wait, but aint holding my breath; guessin it'll take a few more of those iterations b4 it is released, so we may b still waiting for a few months here.

But this tiny bit of info really feels like a breath of fresh air. Seriously thought we were being left behind on this one.

Default Pandora's Box..

I'm not so sure about the whole crash glitch/ no kill thing fix... You guys do realize that if we get it, then we're all gonna start complaining about how the other guy didn't deserve that kill because I crashed doing a stupid loop at 500 ft while looking behind me... Seriously, distraction kills me more often than their bullets that have slightly damaged me have.

I myself, pride myself on my ability to jink guys on my tail and evade certain death.. but what's gonna be the point if no matter what I do, I'll eventually crash and they got a kill for scoring one cannon round.

With the fix, people are gonna start crashing right away so they can go ahead and get a new plane and not even try to keep their plane up, I mean cause no matter what you do, even if you call in a wingman to take care of the guy that shot you, he'll still get a kill even after he's dead and moved on to his next fresh plane.

Bottom line is I think we need to sit down and decide on what a kill really is... cause in real life, as long as you got two wings, an engine, and your life, you have a good chance of making it back home alive.

You can still "out live" the kill:

Off Devs forum:

Common for all platforms:

Controls remapping (custom layout).
Changed MP kills scoring system. Suicide will always reduce score; crash (or bailout) soon (one minute) after signifficant damage will score to shooter; crash (or bailout) after 12 seconds after being hit even lightly will score to shooter.
Brakes with flightstick fix.
(For Arcade& realistic) RS will look around with 'half pressed' target camera trigger.
More effective flak.
Blackouts and redouts on realistic/simulation back again.
