Thank you for the news!!!!!
Can you give us any info on what the MP bugs were?
Also, this whole issue that the publisher is not going to release the update...can you make any comments on that?
Thanks again for your continued support, it is much appreciated

Well, first of all publishers are still going to release update. There are just lots of communication delays, like this: we are making update, publisher schedule QA on next week, then QA works and found issues, then our turn agian.
We have repeate this at least 6 times, and each iteration takes time, usually week and more.
You know updates are not primary buisness for publishers (any of them) and as they don't have internal QA team it take much more time.
I'm talking about PS3 update. X360 will be scheduled for QA not earlier then PS3 update will pass Sony's QA.
Bugs are about disconnects in some cases.

So most of time we are not making or fixing update but just waiting.
But on other hand our works on sequel are on schedule. And all the issues that we have fixed in update or all features that were added will be in sequel. And even more - things like replays or join-in-progress cannot be added in Birds of Prey, but will be in sequel.

So, you are not forgetten, guys :)

Yeah, awsome, its back to the same position it was 3 weeks ago. Awsome.

dreadnaught_ 11-04-2009 02:36 PM

sequel?

Sequel? Are they kidding?

I don't believe any of this for one second. I mean, I'll be happy if it comes true and all, but remember, the last time people were all in a twist over this game, they promised things, said the patch was just around the corner, etc.

They have to say something as a palliative for the community, which is in an uproar.

I'm not trying to be a troll or a pessimist, but seriously, what have they ever done to earn our trust -- besides selling us a lemon that was fun to play until the frustration took hold? What have they promised that has come true?

I know this is off-topic but did I just play a match against you dreadnaught, you were in the I-153? If that was you, you fly that plane damn good, it was like trying to swat a fly with a needle.

No ... sorry. I wish I was playing BOP, but I am at work at the moment.

Haven't been playing online or BOP, waiting for fix.

I play on PS3.

oh so negative and sarcastic, tsk tsk. At least this is some renewed promise its coming out, despite the posters posing as 505 insiders. At this point anything that positively says "its still coming" is awesome to me, though obviously a firm date would be better.

I don't think the guy you reference is trying to be a jerk; I think he's just voicing legitimate concern.

Words are cheap, as has been demonstrated over the month of October. And every time the discord in the community has reached fever-pitch, we've been treated to fine words, such as now.

I think that is a reasonable concern because unless these latest words are followed up by action, we might be at the start of another cycle of misinformation.

For example, for the last week or so, I was the impression that the hold-up was with the publisher. Apparently not, as it is back in QA before -- implying it was RETURNED to the developer to fix and then resubmit.

So, Anton addressed this board on 10/26, blaming the hold-up on the publisher and whining that they were making the patch out of their own money. So, we're supposed to believe that in a week, the patch was returned to them by the publisher, they fixed it, and now it is back in QA?

That makes no sense to me.

Yeah, they'd just lie to us. I don't mind a pessimist, but saying the devs would just lie is ridiculous.

My post of "AWESOME!" was being mocked so I *mildly* mocked back, welcome to the internets. Anyway yeah words are cheap, and I agree its a reasonable concern but I'm not as pessimistic because I think this is consistent with what Anton said previously. Last week he said that the patch was held up because of network issues with the PS3 and was with the publisher. Its reasonable to extrapolate that the pub has sent it back to Q&A to have those issues fixed and things are moving, albeit maddeningly slowly, consistently with what Anton has said and I think thats cause for optimism. Besides this forum needs some optimism, for the last two days almost every thread has been a battle btw optimists and pessimists (and a few trolls); its getting tiresome. Also we have been promised something definite: big news next week. Thats not as good as the patch itself, but its not silence and its not an announcement of the patch being dropped, after some dark days and people leaving the game, anything positive to me is cause for celebration. BoP ain't dead yet!
