Some typical chiefs from a .mis file.

[Chiefs]
0_Chief Vehicle.AEC_Matador gb
1_Chief Vehicle.Opel_Blitz_tent de
2_Chief Armor.Pz_35t_commander de /SpawnFromScript 1
[0_Chief_Road]
299531.16 209387.61 38.40 0 2 4.17
299776.88 209541.27 38.40
[1_Chief_Road]
299570.97 209294.25 38.40 0 2 6.11
299848.06 209462.02 38.40 0 2 3.06
299944.97 209316.97 38.40 0 2 3.06
299780.66 209167.89 38.40
[2_Chief_Road]
299719.81 209041.50 38.40 0 2 4.17
300078.56 209241.83 38.40 0 2 0.00 LAYMINES
300416.25 209490.39 38.40

Lets just take one.

2_Chief Armor.Pz_35t_commander de /SpawnFromScript 1

Pretty obvious stuff, 2nd chief in the mission, name, army, spawn on script...

But what about the numbers in the waypoints?

[2_Chief_Road]
299719.81 209041.50 38.40 0 2 4.17
300078.56 209241.83 38.40 0 2 0.00 LAYMINES
300416.25 209490.39 38.40

Obviously the first two long numbers are waypoints but what are the last numbers?

These bits:

38.40 0 2 4.17

The first number we would expect is altitude?

What ever unit I have layed so far it always seems to have 0 then 2. Changing them seems to have very weird and varied consequences. Sometimes the unit is not there, some times the way point disappears... What are they?

Could the last number 4.17 be speed? I placed a Matilda tank and a British truck down with parallel waypoints, they both had the same value 4.17 but the truck was around 25% faster. Could it be a maximum permissible speed?

My first thought was:

However, note the skill and rate of fire dont work out.

I don't think the first figure is altitude- ship waypoints have the same numbers in this place.

The first 0 changes if you put a time out on the waypoint- but not in an obvious way:rolleyes: The 'speed' parameter at end also can change when you put in a time out. Seems to have some effect on speed of vehicle but.....

The 2 figure- seems to have something to do with behaviour type?, vehicles on splines usually use 6, convoys I see numbers in 30's quite often

Yeah, another of those tantalizing hints that something is going on 'under the hood' (but is possibly only partially working)

Thanks for trying to help, I was losing hope! :-P

Altitude is kinda of the same though no? On the "floor"? ;) If you place an object on a mountain or in a Vally, it would still be on the floor. If it even is alt?
