I think it's kind of mixed, some people use oil, others (like my gf's sisters family) have a big-*ss wood chip burner heater magizmo. Me and my family still live in a large flat so we have central heating which is nice since it doesn't cost us any extra and we don't have to hassle with re-fueling anything.:)
