I've been reading at this & other sites some of the predictions of the next add-on/stand alone version of this Sim,and some seem to indicate that it will be in a MMO format. I'm trying to get my head around what this actually means. The only other MMO I've actually seen is WarThunder which does feature some beautiful maps & aircraft, but is very arcade in game play- at least in the versions I have seen. You also earn or pay for your ranking , the kinds of planes you can fly & the missions/campaigns ( I think) you can fly. In WT there seems to be no realistic missions,no pause, and other limitations, but admittedly fun gameplay .Is this what we are going to see in BoM or are there other versions of this sort of game play?
I'm curious ,perhaps others here in the loinge have a better handle on the future of CloD/BoM.

There was a rumour, based on information posted on a fan site, that seemed to indicate that CloD's successors would be MMOs but this was categorically derided by 1C's community relations whipping boy BlackSix when he recently stuck his head above the parapet, shortly before having it shot off.

MMO is just such a vague term though. It could apply to what we have now...

Some people interpret this as RoF style buying DLC and others say its more like Battle ground europe... Does it mean 250 players a server?? No one knows, is it still on the cards?

We just have to wait.

The next version will become a huge multiplayer game, in it you can fight on the ground, fly airplanes or drive tanks, everthing you want.
This is going to be great fun in my opinion.

The next version means any sequel or whatever will become sth we all do not know atm .... !

As there wasnt any official announcement yet. What you ve read on sides in the www is a piece of bs and likely not much more than bad seeds or rumors.

Well if you ask me, which I notice nobody actually has, I'd tell you that the only real problems the sim has is with the human players. 1C would probably get less complaints if they took them out of the loop altogether!

A massive online simulation with dozens of flights ammounting to hundreds of planes, fleets of ships and invasion barges, Hundreds of thousand of troops massing, all following their orders to the letter! Wouldn't it be a grand sight to see!

I expect the AI obervers would rate the experience very highly!

The free Star Trek Online is an MMO.

You can pay for things to speed up your advancement but you can advance without paying.
