Taking Dad to the this air show this weekend. He was a WAG (tail turret in a Wellington) in Coastal Command when the war in Europe ended.

Experience the high-speed excitement of the
Wings Over Gatineau-Ottawa Air Show!

The 2012 edition features breathtaking aerial demonstrations by the famed Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the CF-18 Demo Team, the F-86 Golden Hawk Sabre, and wing-walking phenom Carol Pilon. There will be legendary Second World War aircraft such as the Spitfire, the FG-1D Corsair, the Avro Lancaster bomber, and more than 100, beautifully-restored, vintage aircraft from Canada and the United States.

There’s also a special focus on Warbirds of the Med marking the 70th anniversary of many of the major air and land battles in and around the Mediterranean Sea during the Second World War.

· Tickets are $20. Free for children 12 and under. Buy at the gate (or in advance online)
· A free “Park and Ride” lot will be available on-site with a shuttle service provided by the STO
· Only 15 minutes from downtown Ottawa

Can you ask your dad if he ever flew with Robert Brierley? My uncle was a pilot in coastal Command in the final years of the war and was on Wellingtons and Warwicks.
