discovereded in the beginning of the 20th century

number2: concious control of the cilliary muscles which focus or unfocus the eyes:
clasically the eye cilliary muscle was defined as an smooth muscle and it was done so since CLASSICALLY people couldnt control it, now you can unfocus your eyes at will before they coulndt
another thing we can do now that before they couldnt is see two images at the same time with each eye, this is called interhemispheric fusion and was defined as not posible by human BINOCULAR RIVALRY
you can check by putting a mirror vertical among your eyes and checking how you see two images at the same time with again according this is not posible:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binocular_rivalry
When one image is presented to one eye and a very different image is presented to the other, instead of the two images being seen superimposed, one image is seen for a few moments, then the other, then the first, and so on, randomly for as long as one cares to look. For example, if a set of vertical lines is presented to one eye, and a set of horizontal lines to the same region of the retina of the other, sometimes the vertical lines are seen with no trace of the horizontal lines, and sometimes the horizontal lines are seen with no trace of the vertical lines.
this is patently FALSE as you can check by the mirrror test
