yeah if you make exception of the hit&boom guns of some (paying) planes.
RoF died for me long time ago anyway. RiP RoF and all our lost illusions :(

Yeah - nice vid, awful music.
Fox3, I'm a ROF fan myself, don't mind talking about it here if it comes up in context, but have you any reason for posting this other than pissing people off?

How about giving people a chance to enjoy the video? What exactly is the problem in a thread on RoF in an off-topic forum? Do you think that RoF is somehow 'competition' for CloD? As far as I'm aware, neither team of developers see it that way...

Only that he seems to be taking some pleasure in winding people up with the ROF thing.
No problem with ROF. But don't see the need to press people's buttons for the sake of it.

From what I have seen ... it does not take much to wind people up or press there buttons around here, as you have just demonstrated.

Yeah, maybe. Was basing my opinion not on the video here but that it came straight after an argument (in which Fox3 was pretty central) about posting ROF related stuff in another thread.
No big deal for me. I like the game and don't mind hearing about it.
Just not sure whether the vid was posted because of its intrinsic interest or to continue the digs from the other argument. Anyway - will now retire from my short unsuccessful career as forum policeman.

What an insecure primadona you are. Are you afraid someone is going to take your CLOD if posts a ROF video in the Off topic section of the forum?
Grow up bud. Some of us play and enjoy all flight sims. Don't turn this thread into the silly CLOD Vs "Xgame".
This is a great video and i loved the music. Looks like it was made specially for this video by Reflected.
Hats off buddy!

Jaws, i think you havent seen that Fox3 (now banned) has been spamming the forum with rof info.... Now that is just ludicrous and your supporting it!!!
I loved ROF it was a great game, it still is a great game and comparisons will always be made but what shouldn't be made is someone from either forum constantly spamming bias info/fanboy stuff in each others forums, all it will do is slice our already waning "community" (i use that word jokingly as it really isnt a community in my eyes anymore) into smaller bits.

I didn't notice that. Sorry. I just saw a cool video posted and I thought kendo was over reacting.
All this games are just different tools in our gaming box. I have most flight sims released in the last ten years and I enjoy or enjoyed most of them.
I really don't understand why some people, in order to enjoy a game, have to bash another.

Fantastic work by the extremely talented Mr.Wolf (SYN Squad).
@ Kendo,.
This was a mistake by Jaws he clearly hadn't seen what fox3 has been doing for the past few days and apologised.

This thread needs more poetry: ;)
'The Gotha'
And as I flew above the lines
upon my growling Gotha
The guns below all opened up
and blew my tail off. Bother...
The RFC bomber pilot's lament:
I plied the skies
and peeled my eyes
For fiendish Albatrosses,
But lost control
spun in - the hole
is marked with flowers and crosses.

Glad you like it. I'm rather pleased with this, though it needs a little more work:
Tom Sopwith and the carpenters (with apologies to Lewis Carroll)
"The time has come", Tom Sopwith said,
"To talk of many things:
Of ribs and struts and bracing wires,
And planes with triple wings.
To twist and turn, and loop and climb
and run around in rings".
"A rotary is what we need,
behind, a Vickers gun:
two wheels, a prop, a wicker chair,
And suchlike 'till it's done.
We'll send it up into the clouds
To perforate the Hun".
Tom Sopwith set his men to work,
upon his new contraption
They hammered, sawed and glued and screwed
till driven to distraction,
then broke for tea, and biscuits (three!),
continued with the lamps on.
All through the night (the Moon was bright)
They worked on Tom's invention
Of finest wood, of cloth and dope
And wires all tight with tension,
assembled all from wheels to tail
And then they fixed the wings on.
The pilot sat inside the Tripe
behind the Vickers gun
they spun the prop, and off he shot
to climb up to the sun
to turn and loop, and wheel about
and perforate the Hun.
The German in his Albatross
was clueless what was coming
The triplane pounced, then wheeled right round
and went on with its gunning
The Huns below, all saw the show,
Astonished at such cunning.
So off they went, all giving vent,
to see their best constuctor
With gutteral curse, and language worse,
they barked out urgent order
To build and fly, as their reply
A triple-winged destructor.
"Tis time", Anthony Fokker said
"To talk of many things
Of ribs and struts (no bracing wires!)
And planes with triple wings.
To twist and turn, and loop and climb
and run around in rings..."

Ah, yes - scans much better. Thanks
I'd started a thread, but haven't had a lot of interest: http://riseofflight.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=31361
Actually, composing questionable war poetry on the online chat is a useful diversion while we RoF bomber pilots struggle to persuade an R.E.8 that it is capable of climbing faster than the grass growing under it, so we can at least cross the front with sufficient altitude to not hear the flak gunners laughing at us. I seem to remember composing something on the esteemed Harry Tate online yesterday -I'll see if I can find it in the chat logs.
Edit - found it:
R.E.8
The pilot flew between the clouds, in his lumbering R.E.8
The gunner felt a little 'eeugh' - the turbulence was great
The pilot headed to the ground - "I think I'll land just there"
The gunner cheered and hopped right out, to change his underwear.

Probably had a little too much beer to get any further, but I've made a start on one for the CloD forum:
Little Willy Messerschmitt
Little Willy Messerschmitt,
had a plan, and worked on it.
Made a sketch,
then thought a bit.
Thought some more,
and rubbed his jaw.
Thought again,
then off he tore.
"Paper, pencils!" (sharpened fine...)
"I must start my new design".
"Needs a number...
One oh nine!".
...
To be continued...

I couldn't hate that music anymore I think. Some modern music works with WWI WWII sim movies others totally ruins them. It's hurtful to say things like this when someone likes something and puts it up but don't take this there wrong way Fox3 I'm old as the hills and I'm sure lot's of younger people would love that video and the one I would like they would probably say it was gay or depressing. I know my brothers kids would LOL.

As far as new music goes I don't mind this in this video. If it had some external flybys it would be even better but COD online won't allow it.

I think he was winding us up with that tastefully selected passage of music. ;) TBH, I didn't finish watching the video. Maybe it's the mood I'm in, but I couldn't get past the music.
Personally I didn't take the OP's posting as a chide toward CoD and it's fans.

Yes - I must work on it some more - sadly, my poetic mojo seems to come and go, and deserted me while trying to find a rhyme for 'Reichsluftfahrtministerium'. ;)
