Just need time away from this sim at the moment, maybe when we have had some of the problems ironed out I'll give it another try.

Sad to see you go Meaker, but good on you if you can break the habit and step away for a bit.

Well, wrong subforum for this I guess (should really be in the pilot's lounge) but it's sad to see this. Keep in mind this is very much a beta patch and you're free to revert to the official version (in which Hurries start perfectly fine). It's a long wait for this patch, many of us will come and go, but imagine the outcry if what we currently have was released officially. 1C actually does need to take their time, frustrating as it is, it's a complex flight sim being made by a tiny team.

i know the feeling. Just come back in a month and put everyone you dont want to read in a ignroe list. it may take 20 people, but this forum is now quite enjoyable.

Can feel your pain. Hurricanes are my ride and its now porked for on line. I been with this series from the demo il2 days and I can understand folks frustrations.
I not lost heart yet, I go and play with mission builder and some missions over home territory over the Isle of Wight offline for now. I got all the historical AA in the correct places and when working graphics are beautiful. It does make you think whether there is still a development team out there on this sometimes. Surprised some developed content had not been included too. I remember a few years back submitting photos of the Solent forts and seeing the excellent draft models. You don't see these in the game with many other things absent. Oh well hope to see you back when Hurri fixed, I go back to lurking on forum.

Hopefully it will be a problem that is quickly resolved. It really cuts down on the plane list for Red.

Good bye for now, Hope to see you again soon.

1+

How about a stickied thread in the pilots lounge for the guys who want to post about such stuff.

For me it's a normal thing. Sometimes you stick with something and other times you let go. Is it really necessary to announce that to the world?
I've been gone for like months, before that it was years.

But doesn't the same apply to real life anyways? I don't do the same stuff over and over again every day. I'd die from boredom.

The best feeling to me is if you can return after being gone for some time and still being welcomed. That's how friends, family and decent hobbies should work.
If you're required to show up on schedule each day it's nothing but a nuissance.

geezus...I hope your right on that point mate and we do indeed get a hotfix which you would presume to be within days not weeks or months

It's with heavy heart that I am informing you guys I'm leaving COD,I have been here from day one and have loved the dogfights, duels and banter that this sim and forum has given us.

However lastnight's patch rendered my beloved Hurricane from even being able to start. There were still the same bugs as before and I feel I have no longer the will or passion to keep on going on with this so it's time for me to go.

I will periodically check back here to see if any further improvements have been made, but in the meantime, cheerio and thanks for the goodtimes.;)

This seems a bit rash to me...the Hurricane does start for others, try reading up from those who have posted their method.

Yes true, but leaving the game seems a bit much. He could continue to fly on-line, and fly the new aircraft off-line.

He can start on-line:grin:

Yes you can start the hurri online ive done it a few time now but its a bit of a bore as you have to have rads closed about 20% throttle and keep turning it over and over and over for about 15 mins to get the oil temp up to about 30 the after all that she will fire up , but you have to have patience to do it or do what i do most of the time and jump in a spit II instead lol...

yes, it's broken. and the "solution" is painstaking and rediculious.. it needs fixing (hopefully a hotfix can be built)

However, in the meantime ATAG server have kindly added airstart hurris until the issue is fixed. So they cna be flown online...

tbh i do see the value of such threads, but only when they are posted in such a manner, ie not in a drama queen way. want to know why there are less people in CLoD than there may have been? this thread tells you why.

i kind of echo the sentiments as well, the last time i fired up the game was for the previous beta release, i could play tracks but the game would crash within 5 minutes of me actually trying to fly anything. i have too little time to waste trying to glitch shoot to get it to work for the half hour slots of playtime i have, so i've not touched it since. ftr it worked before i put in the beta, albeit too stuttery online even with low/middle settings. before that it was months since i'd even fired it up.

Yes your right Titus it is ridiculous thats why i jump in the spit II instead nothing worse than going through all that to get in the air and then the mission ends lol.

Drama drama drama, baby!

So you "will periodically check back", hm? In other words, you just refrain from posting until things get better?
That's certainly deserving a farewell thread! I'm already missing you! *sniff*

This is no big deal. If people want to be beta testers they'll stay, if not they'll come back if and when the sim becomes playable enough to suit their sensibilities.
