E69_Pupo and me have been wondering in the bugtracker (http://www.il2bugtracker.com), wether this is a bug or a pecularity of my system setup.
Symptom:
If I spawn on ground and start normal, there's force feedback from the control surfaces (aileron, elevator) relative to speed and flight situation (plus force feedback from ground, engine, guns, etc).
If I spawn in mid-air there's always force feedback from engine and guns but sometimes not from the control surfaces (aileron, elevator).
Steps to reproduce (And I can reproduce this with 100% hit rate):
Start Computer
Start CloD
Go into Single Player, Quick missions, start any (i.e. "Free Flight - Channel")
Hit "Fly"
Now, there is either force feedback from the control surfaces or there is not.
(A) If there is no force feedback
Take up speed and make a looping
force feedback from the control surfaces kicks in halway through it
Force feedback from the control surfaces will then always be present in airspawns, unless:
(B) If there is force feedback
Hit <Esc>
Exit back to Quick Missions
Exit CloD (Main Menu, Exit)
Restart CloD
Go into Single Player, Quick missions, start any (i.e. "Free Flight - Channel")
Hit "Fly"
There's no force feedback from the control surfaces
The difference between having force feedback from the control surfaces or not having it is big: rather stiff or totally limp. The stall flutter is completely missing in the latter case.
My system specs:
i5-2500K @4,2GHz, Chipset Z68X
X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty, GTX580 3GB, 25,5"@1920x1200
Logitech G940 (Throttle and Pedals modded), 2 BU0836A, 1 BU0836X
FreeTrack, BlueSoleil, Wii Remote
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
The settings for ForceFeedback are: "Overall" (100), "Spring" (75), "Damper" (100), "Centering Spring" disabled. Logitech Profiler is not running.
Now: E69_Pupo could not reproduce it at all.
As I do not want to clutter the bugtracker with speculations, I've taken the issue here.
