Yeah man, I agree. I think most people here would agree or they probably wouldn't stick around.

What really concerns me though, is how your location is London, England, but you are not European. Please explain.

Muchos gracias.

Well... apart from if you are one of those Korean Starcraft players we read about in the papers on occasion...... less chance of dying sat at a PC? :D

No disrespect...that real life flying musta been "light sport"...and under 45 minutes duration. I've owned and flown the real thing and it stayed up a lot longer than 45 minutes.;)

Yup, the DCS series is the overall best IMO too. No massive multiplay or H-t-H, true, but it's an excellent platform for groundpounding coops nevertheless...

Wouldn't be so bad if you just ended up at your desktop at home, would it? I can understand what you mean though, if CTD's had you end up at a desktop at work. Imagine it yourself, sunny Sunday midday flying around in your little Cessna then BAM! Your sitting at your workdesk in the office with the tyrant of a boss breathing down your neck, now there's a CTD I'm glad we're not getting.

Great game.. for flight simulation its great so far.. I will get new pc soon to get the most out of it and when the patch comes out have massive battles. The most fun is getting shot at and trying to survive with one engine ect and still land..

CLoD is beautiful to behold, especially the cockpits...but while some pieces are very nice the product is so flawed right now...ridiculous AI, limited features, vibrating shadows, on and on and on and on...I can only enjoy for about 10 minutes doing some sightseeing and marveling at the 109 flyby sounds. But then I get bored and on to ROF or FSX. CLoD is the best WW2 combat flight sim but it's not a better overall product than ROF or FSX, IMHO.

Agree. CLoD just hasn't pulled me in yet as much as RoF or DCS A10-C, although my sightseeing tends to be done in a Spitfire :) I've never flown anything in real life, so I can't comment on how it compares to that; I hear X-Plane 10 is pretty good in that respect.

I'm from an old IL2 squad and we haven't played CoD together once. There are too many issues with it. From a single player perspective it is painfull to see something that can shout at you how good it could be and then ctd or hit you with bugs to the point that you quit out with frustration.

Personally the only game that I can remember that had such a torrid infancy was Falcon 4. In its day it looked great and... well... you could just see what it was capable of. The problem I see is that Falcon 4 developed in a time where flight sims and combat sims commanded a big market sector and now they dont. CoD just doesn't have the slack Falcon had and thats a fact. Add to that CoD comes from the IL2 family of sims which pretty much blew the competition away and CoD as it stands couldn't blow the skin off a rice pudding (old Yorkshire phrase-sorry !)

I want CoD to be something that my squad, the Fighting Irish, will want to play, but week in, week out it's 'we are almost there, it will be great' just doesn't cut it any more. To me it is put up or shut up for CoD.

I know that (i) the CoD Templar Knights will blast this post and (ii) I don't give a (fill in your profanity of choice)

I have a little real flying experience and lots of flight sim experience, but I do think IL2 CoD will eventually pan out to be one of the best flight sims of all time, its almost there IMHO and I have high hopes for the forthcoming patch.

I tried building a simple mission today. Just a red HB & 2 blue enemy Ai flights & no scripts, but every time I ran it in FMB I got a CTD. This is simply unacceptable for a professonaly produced computer game.

I'm of the same opinion as FI=Scott. We've heard urges for patience, and phases like 'we're working on it' or 'we're nearly there' for over 6 months now. I fear that the next patch (if it comes before BOM), will offer a small improvement in fps for some in the community but not address many of the critical bugs in the game. Anyone noticed how we get pics & info of BOM, but NO information on any of the critcal (non graphical) bugs in COD being fixed?

Quite frankly, (1) the next patch needs to improve gameplay to the extent that it re-engages public interest in the game, & (2) BOM would have to be exceptionally 'clean' & work well right from the start, otherwise IMO the COD franchise is dead.
