Depends where you installed the game....typically looks like this:

C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\Launcher.exe

Attila- whats the easiest way to make these work? I haven't figured out how to replace originals & I DEFINATELY want to use yours!
Thanks!

I used GIMP! It's a software like Photoshop and it's free, means it's open source.
Then you search a pic that you like, bring it in a square shape (create a layer) and save it as a .ico file. That's it!
Another opinion is to search on Google, there are some other ways to create icons!
But it's important to use pics that are not to fine lined!

PS: Sorry for my lousy english, i hope you understand what i meant to say!:???:

No Atilla - I think you misunderstood me- I just want to use one of yours- how do I install one afeter I've downloaded yours or Tvrdi's.I know where one would go...do I just drop it in there & it will work or do I have to rename it? I know its probably simple, but I don't want to make a mistake...Thanks!

Once you have downloaded and extracted the files from the 'zip', put the resulting folder (or just pick your fav icon) somewhere safe and make a mental note of where.
On your desktop right click on your current icon and choose properties.
In the dialogue box that opens up click on 'change icon' on the 'Web Document' tab.
Use the 'browse' button to navigate to wherever you put the icons folder.
Choose your fav icon and click 'OK'. Job done

Just an idea... put the ico file to another place and set the path new, maybe it works... if not... no other ideas:(

If after moving your file and trying again you are still having trouble on reboot, could I ask what OS you are using and where have you placed your icon file?

Cheers
