I've never seen that footage before. Really interesting.
P-40's were the RAAF's main fighter in the throughout the Pacific war. They were ruggard enough to cope with the rough conditions, and had the range to take the fight to the opposition.
I think we had two squarons in the western desert and P-40's served us right up to the end of the war. The last RAAF aircraft lost in combat in WWII was a Kityhawk (9th August 1945) that was shot down in the Sanga Sanga area.
(Guess who want's a P40 in the next expansion pack for COD?)
You've got to love the hummor of the service men! I personally would have waited for the nipple!
