I drive a Toyota Tacoma... started out on the yotatech forums several years ago. Ended up just keeping the same nick for 1c forums to make things easier to remember. Simple as that!

Our former dog :)

bongodriver
11-03-2011, 06:32 PM
I used to fly the Britten Norman Islander, they have the nickname 'bongo' don't know if it's from the military or just general affection, and because I have a lack of imagination and am lazy I can't be bothered to change it to Learjetdriver :)

From a spawn comic :D

von Pilsner
11-03-2011, 06:47 PM
It was originally Baron von Pilsner (since been shortened), inspired by Homer Simpson as the Beer Baron...

MD_Titus
11-03-2011, 06:53 PM
there was a monkey soft toy in a friend's room at uni, it was christened "titus gibbonicus" after the Shakespearean Titus Andronicus (long story, altered states etc). hyperlobby wouldn't accept such a long name in combination with my squad tag of MD, so it got shortened.

6S.Tamat
11-03-2011, 06:58 PM
long story short:

past lactose intolerance > special food in summer camping > like tamagotchi i had "special food" > tamagotchi for all friends > tama commonly > tamat palyndrom chosen for my wing nick..

Helrza
11-04-2011, 07:15 AM
Back in 2001, the days of warbirds only allowed a 6 letter name, i decided to call myself according to what i beleive i was doing in the air, being a hellraiser, or Helrza for short, and has stuck since :)

B4 that, the name deadma (couldnt fit the "n") wasnt working for me rofl

AMVI_Superblu

'Super' is from the movie "Black Hawk Down", where the BlackHawks callsign was Super 6-x

pupaxx
11-04-2011, 08:31 AM
Originally 'italian puppet', a free traduction from the repertoir of my favored '70-'90 italian comic Paolo Villaggio.
It was initially chosen as username for email account but unavailable cause it was already been used by others, after several permutations 'pupaxx' was the first available.
Cheers

Smurfy is my flying nick, as i`m 1.62m tall and was given that nickname at 6th form aged 17, 27 years on I still have people calling it me and by some who don`t actually know my real name at all.

Whiski

My nick is self explanatory  . I like it....I like it a lot.

Had it since my virtual flying career started back 13 years ago and been drinking it for over 27 years.

Screamadelica
11-04-2011, 10:25 AM
The classic Primal Scream album from 1991. Includes the tracks " Higher Than The Sun " and " Loaded " as well as " Damaged " and " I'm Comin' Down ", which sort of describes my flying style.:)

Jumpy
11-04-2011, 10:41 AM
I called myself "Jumpy" because I am an old "jumper", that is skydiver.
Also fly a microlight. Like flying just above the tree tops, down with the birds.
Land on the beach, or looking for crocs in the creeks. I'm also a bit nervous (jumpy) so it is one of those double entendre things, I think. I'm not nervous in the air, though. Things are clear up there.

Madfish
11-04-2011, 11:32 AM
One day I flushed the toilet and it made this weird sound. I listened closely and came up with the nick.

Ali Fish
11-04-2011, 11:42 AM

ATAG_Dutch

Boring really, my family name is Holland. I was called 'Dutch' all through school.

badfinger

We had a dog our kids named Binky. In registering him with the American Kennel Club, there were already 8 other Binky's, so the AKC registered him as Binky9. He's gone, now, but not forgotten.

Vengeanze
11-04-2011, 04:44 PM
I'm such a bad pilot I'm always looking for vengeance but that nick was taken.
I wanted Ace of Aces first but that was taken too.

Had the name Luthier and sold it to Iliya for an IL-2 mug.

FlyingShark
11-04-2011, 05:29 PM
My nickname is the title of an old arcade game with biplanes I used to spend a fortune to in the arcade halls as a kid.

~S~

MadBlaster
11-04-2011, 05:44 PM
Before IL-2 there was Halo. I had always liked being the masterchief with my blaster in that game. I also noticed that the default profile for IL-2 was John "Mad" Doe. Then it happened. A halo shown over my head and I had an epiphany. Thou shalt call thyself “MadBlaster"! So, I bought myself a supersuit just like the masterchief and the IL-2 adventure began. Exploding zeros with my corsair.:)

SIDWULF
