Hey I get it , I can understand a gripe once in a while but it seems to me that the ones that are complaing are always complaining. If you don't see that its probably because your to busy complaining. My game doesn't always run smooth but sometimes it does. I come here for advice and possible fixes not your complaints. I have always been a FPS player before il2 and none of those games have the depth of COD. I must say I am looking forward to BF3 tho, and thats only because I'm a grunt at heart. I'm huge fan of the original. I fly here http://www.warbirdsofprey.org/ for few years now.

I took CLoD off my pc a while back. I come here to check the status. Willie from WoP says he is going to put up a CLoD server. If it wasn't for that, I probably wouldn't check here at all. But if everyone that flies on spit/109/mod all of a sudden decides to start flying this thing, I guess I'll do the same. I just don't see CLoD as a better game than the mod 46' game. Yes, I had expectations for CLoD that were not fulfilled. On the other hand, I had no expectations for the 46' mod game and it has bloomed into a rose. Strange you said that about fps. I used to be that way too until I started playing IL-2. Anyway, my comment, was a joke. I like to see fanbois with their thin skin come to CLoD's rescue.;)

If the "whiners" mentioned by you are so enjoying the sim so much, why do they use so much energy to damage the image of this sim???

Everybody with some sense should realize that the devs do know the problems of their baby best, and will do anything to fix them.

But no, here we are, disputing about some promises made by oleg years ago.

Of course the devs want to implement or activate all the stuff that has been promised, but hey, this sim had more pressing problems than those promises.

When the basics are working, then start on the icing and extras.

Well, i have only about 350 h accumulated now, but that is because i don't like to fly alone and my squad is reorganizing.

They don't try to damage the image of the sim, they do!

Don't judge them by their words but by their doings, i'd say.

Impatience is a really bad advisor, and one can only become disappointed if one's expectations where too high.

CoD is without competition for the best wwii flight-sim imo.

I have much fun with it and it takes about 95% of my gaming time.

For that reason i want it to prosper, which needs a better image, which i am trying to defend.

my game only runs 1 gig of ram. i have 1 gig of ram for win7 and 1 waiting impatiantly for COD to use it. Same goes to CPU where only 1 core has the joy of being used by COD, and GPU who only goes up to 70%.

I concur with TreeUK opinion on this post...

The moment you pay for a product, you become a customer, and as such you have rights,especially if what they sold you is a product that is not working or doesn't live up to the expectations you were promised. Look what they're doing with Take On Helicopters, they're selling a running beta, no gimmicks. 1C was strangled by Ubisoft (the real issue here,together with the poor managing of Maddox Games), and hurried to put an unfinished game on the market.They're not the first nor the last to do it,but it doesnt change this may piss people off. What annoyed me (and still does actually) is that the PR of Maddox are s**t,and after so many years they still don't seem to care or understand the importance of it (Luthier shouldn't even begin to think about posting on Sukhoi.ru, if he's so busy as they say he should ONLY post here,he works for 1C,not Sukhoi.ru).

Having said that,they're doing a great job,but it'd be interesting to know where all the money went and when they will stop it with the garage business attitude and get a project manager with balls..

check any of lobisomen post. 2 or 3 days ago he psoted a video and i made notice that building popping should be fixed. he told he had none on his game, and how the bad transacitons between See/not see buildings, lego buildings was a actually a positive thing.

I would understand if in my settings i had buildings popped (i dont have buildings at all in my graphic settings, jsut 4 poly blocks. ) but him, who claims COD runs so perfectly, and its just plain good, and how everyone should "just buy a pc", i wouldnt expect this issues.

That they further damage the image of CoD with that actions, reducing the moneyflow that finances the support and troubleshooting doesn't troble them.

They own the truth and if CoD dies without enough money they are proven correct.

That are no fans, that are people which pull things down to elevate themselves.

Real fans don't whine, real fans write bug reports with documented facts and try to help the devs and the community!

CoD was a premature baby, but look how it has developed already.

The next official patch will, imo, elevate CoD to a full fledged sim, where the devs can start to get the icing on the cake.

as you know we had some differences about the game in the german ubi forums and i have to admit there was a time i was pretty much fed up with CloD.
Well patience is not really what i have most in my life. sry for that.
But i still support the game and the idealism which made it possible, but there are some other things which make me still very much angry, not about the game its more about 1c itself and their behavior in the past since the release.

I realy do hope you are right about the next patch, i realy do.
Otherwise from us here at the forums nobody knows exactly how much damage the pretty bad release state from Clod did to further addons or further flight sim projects by 1c at all.
Damaged reputation can kill not even future 1c Flight sims it also can kill the developer itself but this is not the fault from the so called "whiners" there is only 1c to be accounted for. Hope not.

Look we all know that Oleg and Luthier told some great big lies in the past regarding how great and wonderful this game would be, but that is in the past, We have seen some progress in the last few months, the game looks better and runs better and also crashes a lot more for me and many of those I fly with, but at least all the lying has stopped now, just ask the Community manager. :grin:

As I've said before, I like this game 450flying hours says so, I also help here In the forums but I also shout if I need to and think its a valid reason.

but, I can't find my screen shots? I moved the steam folder and contents to another partition and now the screen shots they take but there missing.


I have had that problem. Screen shots seem to end up in odd places, at the moment they are going to the game root folder found in steam. Sometimes I have to do a search using the date the shots were taken as that is included in file name to winkle the little beggers out.

This is the underlying point. Fan-bois who praise the game will not improve it. Fans who post constructive posts about areas in need of improvement will. And for the record, when a topic has been created arguing that terrain could be improved, I and others have always supported our posts in such topics with research and personal, first-hand observations.

And, to prove that I am a fan (because apparently you have to round here :rolleyes: ) I gave Oleg and Luthier pages and pages and pages of research for the RAF flight-kit represented in-game (even if they didn't do as good a job as they could have done, given my research...) I seeked to improve the game in the most constructive, relevent way possible for myself.

I am a big fan of flight simulators and especially enjoy the old WW2 aircraft. So I was looking forward to this game as I knew the original IL2. Well many things went wrong. There were some things I also got a bit angry. So I left CloD and just took a look here for news from time to time. It was yesterday that I gave another try and I like it know. Sadly my Hotas Cougar broke so I ll get another off time from CloD till I get something new :(
So, as I said, the game is still not in the shape they promised before and thats a shame. That has to be said. If I am rightly dissapointed I have to clarify to those guys why I am. Don't know if you guys saw the antialiasing thread where you now can alter the overall ingame colors without any performance hit. Now the color debaters can quit and fix their own color.

And those like me who think that a 2011 flight sim should have an AI worthy of its time and not a step back from the earlier sim.

If I sit at home and can't find immersion in the simulation of air combat no multitude of shaders, polygons or clever algorythms are going to help. I don't care much if some houses in Kent are at the wrong location (sorry kentish flight simmers), or if a Fairey Albabribton has its off set wings wrongly modelled by 0.7 degrees or if my six gpu setup needs an own power house.

But if the single player experience lacks all the smoke and mirrors fail miserably.

I still have a few sliders at reduced settings to keep minimum frame rates above about 25ish (in most cases).

From where I sit any time in the forseeable future if I get an increase in minimum frame rate I'll be uping those settings.

High frame rates are great but I'ld rather a consistent low frame rate that looks good rather than a high frame rate with stutters.

I was not thinking "release it already" as any kid do: I was praying that all was in a good state... that's not a "bug free" product, but an application developed in a modern and smart way (DX11, good memory management, 64bit, multicore ect...)

How come you didn't rich the mixture, use the wheel brake or stick your 6DoF head out like an ostrich and admire the grass with the 46' hurry?:-P Anyway, it looks to me like it boils down to mouse clickable cockpit, some upgraded graphics and a difference in sound. The fact is, we have no idea as to the accuracy of the CLoD flight models. At least with the 46' mod flight models, they have stood the test of time and scrutiny in the IL-2 community. The corner speeds, the top speeds, the climb rates, the ceiling rates, the dive speeds, thermal temps, fuel capacities, wing loading, supercharger altitudes, mixture changes, roll rates, etc., etc., etc. I could go on and on. These things have been discussed ad nauseum on various IL-2 boards for years. All this proven and verified to historical documentation from years of work done by Oleg/1C and the IL-2 community.

On the other hand, the CLoD Hurry, we have no idea as to the accuracy, except the visuals like the cockpit layout. There is no device link tool to tell us if they got the CEM or FM correct. We must rely strictly on a belief in Luthier because Oleg, unfortuneatly for all of us, decided to ditch the game. Remember, Oleg was the aero engineer behind the game. I'm not sure Luthier has that background too. Hopefully he is more than just a programmer and understands flight models as well as Oleg. Otherwise, this game will never reach potential.:!:

Truthfully I bought the game believing my rig wouldn't run it, and I was delighted when I found it ran just fine with a few annoying small bugs that are sorting themselves out slowly.
Like many here I pop in looking for what is being worked on and what is going to be included in any updates. I fly a few sims so it's not like I have nothing else to play, but it is a forgone conclusion that there are going to be juvenile, inane comments made by a few individuals that I dismiss as I would any smart-aleck teenager. I like the sim, warts and all. It will get better, might take awhile, but it will. I feel the OP's frustration but everyone has a right to their own opinion; narrow-minded or biased as it may be.

RO2 is an evolution of RO1 of course: but it's more CoD than Arma... and the majority of RO veterans are angry at this new gameplay.

Well as far as RO2 goes I like it, MW:COD not so much. So there are fundamental differences that will color every argument for either - so goes the way of any PC Game that is developed. After flying for almost 10 years constantly IL2 and almost nothing else, CloD has changed this attitude. Even after the latest patch, this sim does not attract me as much as the old IL2 did for years.

On the other hand I have to thank the developers of CloD. Without them I would probably never have found out how nice a sim like RoF can be or a FPS like Crysis or Crysis2, all of them are great games ! Seriously !

I have to admit, I'm not a fan. I'm a big fan of WWII aviation, history, flight sims, and I would LOVE to say I'm a fan of CloD too, but I'm not (yet).

And that's exactly the reason I'm here: I'm looking for answers, promises, fixes, deadlines and other info.

First of all the term "fan" comes from the word fanatic and is totally overused as it only really applies to the most hardcore fanbois which is another lame catch phrase I can believe I'm repeating. I think the US government finally figured this out and is now trying to do something about it. I'll just say this, and I was born in the USA, they call America the home of the brave but the second anything happens people freak out and the fear mongers go to work. The government was trying to get much of the content in the Patriot Act passed for years and years. When 911 happened they saw it as a perfect opportunity to tighten the screws. All those members of congress sure don't want to lose their cushy lifestyles and they sure don't want there wallets effected so who cares if we have to send some common folks to war to die. They sure as anything aren't sending their kids over to Afghanistan cause Guy and Buffy are going to Harvard and have bright futures unlike the lowlife working class kids. They get rich while others die. Same old, same old.
