im heavewly consider to buy this, i had an unexpected ammount of fun with the beta. On the other side, im afraid it will just be more of the same wit hthe beta repeating itself and the no-mod policy is a dealbreaker too.

Na mate, The release will be nothing like the BETA, I didnt do the PC Beta but did see the console BETA version and that had no content whatsoever, ust a FPS? no interaction etc?
Personally the variety is what makes it more appealing than the CoD series

I tried the pc. i was surprised by a few things:
-map was nice, it was balanced, interesting, and good looking.
-performance was superb, i ran it on ultra. not expecting that at all.
-teamwork, unlike other BF series, the new "spawn on teamates" system results in concentrated battles, where multiple people end up working together and skirmishing 4 vs 4 instead of lone wolfers based gameplay
downsides
- the usual FPS stupidity, 5 shoots on one guy and he turns back and headshots you or a guyjumps from a vent does a barrel roll and kills you in the process....
-Not realistic. i like realism, not Arma harcore style, but a little bit here and there.
no mods
wicjh equals no PR. PR3 its possible my biggest wish now...

I did the same then read somewhere that ultra settings were not enabled in the beta but it still ran well and looked very good

Ive not played any other games really since CoD was released..Im interested to see how BF3 will run on my rig and what settings i will be able to play it on
It looks really good but I'm passing on this one.
I'm just getting sick of FPS and Origin bugs me.

Same, extremely ugly colors and the jet demo is disappointing at the very best. Maybe I'll get it during a sale at some point but for now this is a joke.
Also I'm not too fond of the awaiting DLC madness. Even the Karkand map is a DLC already (included for pre-order but otherwise DLC).
Gaming is really rotten right now. Return expectations are just too high so we're being sold very small value for a high price.

Games are games. You don't live them. You play them.
I had fun with the last one, I'll get this one too and have fun. Easy going drunken fun.

The gameplay of the Battlefield series has always been excellent, sprinting from cover to cover, ducking behind objects and taking pot shots here and there is lots of fun. You could never really do this very effectively in other FPS games. To me that is realism.
Still looking for a hardcopy of the game, evey store is sold out.
I am really happy to see this game so sucsessfull and that it had such a brilliant launch.

What annoyed me with bfbc2 was the sniper fest, ruined multiplayer for me but apparently sniping is harder this time.
P.s. do you have to run the game through eas software?

Are you sure is not some kind of drivers incompatibility or something ?
I had something similar in pastusing ASUS Plug&play keyboard with a Logitech mouse (and its own drivers to manage/set all its features) that caused me some troubles with the good old IL-2 Forgotten Battles.. i was unable to turn my view via mouse.
Solved by using my mouse without logitech drivers.
Dunno if it's the same issue in your case

The Bf2 rocked till the mine mine mine began.. so i left it. Took on Bf3 LE on PC and started in the highest possible settings..and it works..till you want to shoot some tho..... No joy, no shooting. Seems that the game doesn't like the flight sticks, rudders and quadrants. Unplugging these makes the game work,no way i'm disconnecting the sticks . Crappy issue. A bit harsh to say it's a shooter and not a real flightsim ;)

Cliffs of Dover may not be up to par at this time and I'm not comparing it to BF3 but I have to say I think EA is trying to cause seizures. There is something in the lighting that is causing my left eye a lot of pain I mean I have ruptured a blood vessal in my eye playing it for only half a day, can't say that for COD.

Not that harsh
