a few nights back i thought i would go and fly for the dark side (RAF) anyhow the rotol version of the Hurri was my chosen mount, and i was very suprised at what a great gun platform it was, the 8x .303's absolutely shred 109s, and do a fair old job against the bombers, just wish there was more ammo!
the only fly in the ointment is that for some reason there is a noticable jump or step in the elevator controls while easing the nose up to aim at a target. none of the other aircraft exhibit this issue and are smooth and progressive in all aspects of control input, my control profile is the same for all aircaft types, so any suggestions would be appreciated guys!
Cheers

exactly mate, i use a CH combat stick, have done for 11years and it is faultless, this is definately not a spiking issue or some such, and as with you
it is only in the Hurri.
cheers

I to get exactly the same thing in the (and only the) hurricane, guess it must be a bug of sorts. I use a msffb2.

Me too. Thought it was my stick, as it has a reputation, so thx for posting! :)

Lol, that has got to be some OCD, where you're forced to say "bug"...
Maybe you try to adjust joystic/axis sensivity in the settings menu first?

Not so mate. It makes no difference when you set a 10% dead zone and 50% sensitivity.;)

correct, you can play with the stick settings to your hearts content and its the same and it doesn't happen in any of the other fighters. QED......

I have a similar problem but it occurs in ALL aircraft.
When pulling a tight turn its like the game takes the force feedback movements over my own input and just bounces the plane around in the turn.
Also when i shoot i get half a second of round on target then my nose will shoot up and i have to re-aim. Haven't noticed this with any other videos i have seen.
I have a Saitek Cyborg Evo Force.
Anything i can do?

Try setting the rts Joystick setting FF=1 to 0. For those without Force Feedback.

lol, if only FF=0 would turn off ffb for those that do have it, switch seems to be broken at the mo.

Same issue here, thought as well it was my stick. Happy I'm not the only one.
Going to try setting FF=0, see what that improves.

it won't improve anything
at least for the Hurri..

ah so im not the only one then I tought it was my setting in the Joystick or sensitivity.
Can some one give me a good set up
mine
Sensitivity =100
dead space0=2
dead space100=2
I would greatly apreciate it.

same problem here with the Hurricane only (FFB2 Joy)
Idem, same here, jump in Hurri's elevator, Saitek X-52pro

I use the TM Warthog and Hurricane is just fine for me. I turned off the FF effects just in case. Why keep the code running there if I do not even have a FF stick? :) I think the Saitek uses potentiometers? TM uses Hall-sensors and this could possibly make the difference.

I don't think it makes much difference with regard to stick type or pots verse hall effect sensors, we have a good mix of stick types here including higher end stuff and the problem is the same. I will have to do some more testing when I am on break next to see if the effect is always there or can be narrowed down to certain situations.
Craig
Saitek X52 models use Hall sensors. Same problem only with Hurricane, for me, it's a bug as nothing I have tried stops it happening!

Trumps I see the same thing. Running CH fighter stick also. If you are trimmed in 1G flight in the Hurricane then "sloooowly" start feeding in backstick, after about 10% backstick input you get a slight (but very apparent) pitch up. Its as if there is a notch in the pitch circuit.... or like coming out of a dead zone type thing.
This only manifests itself in the Hurricane. This has been reported directly to the Devs. See the Youtube video below. The little nod can been seen at 0:05 and 0:16 into the video.

G'day bud, yup you are bang on with your appraisal, glad to hear the devs know about it, I should imagine it won't be a biggy to sort out when they get to it.

I was just playing with this a bit. Usually, I experience the same problem. Today, I tried something. We can see the hick in that vedio, so I wanted to see if it was visible in the elevator movement. I got into the cross-country quick missing with a Hurricane Rotol. I switched to external view so I could watcht the elevator move as I moved the stick. The elevator motion was very smooth--no hick. So, I powered she up and took to the air to see if it made a difference. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I couldn't make it happen. I flew as smooth as silk no match how I moved the stick back and forth.
Then I remembered that I had already changed FF=1 to FF=0 in conf.ini. I just changed it back to confirm and the hick came back.

Cheers

Thanks for resurrecting this, Craig, as I've only started flying the Rotol in recent weeks and missed this thread completely. I get the same strange "hitch" with my MSFFB2, TM16000, and Warthog sticks. I'll set FF=0 and see if that smooths things out. Curious it's just the Hurricane.

Which way is the least jumpy on the sensitivity settings? I'm having a hell of a time trying to get smooth flying on all fighters with my logitech force 3d pro .The planes are over sensitive and all over the place and the adjuster seems to make very little difference . I find sometimes if I minimize the gme to the taskbar and then back again things smooth out . The sliders to me in the adjument settings are very confusing as to what they do . Maybe it's a russian thing .?Is sliding all the way to the right the most mellow or the most hyper?

My logitech force 3d pro seems to do it with most of the planes , especially the bf 109 . Jumping all over the place .I'm always adjusting the joystick with no joy . EDIT : I've got it figured out running the game through logitech joystick profile to the point where I can actually hit a target now .
