As ive just got my hands on this setup im after some tips from those who have had the units a while already..
Has anyone got any programs to make the keys change colour on the throttle for instance..
Any tips for the FFB options?
Profile tips/key assignments for CoD/IL2
Also there is a slight buzzing noise when stick is in idle/centre..is this normal?
thks

The slight buzzing noise is the stick trying to center and overcorrecting, i remove the power when it disturbs me, as it is only when not in use.
For IL2 there was/is a little program from a guy called mikkowl, irc, wich removed the reversal bug and changed the lights.

Honestly, what is Logitech's problem?
They make a kick ass stick, then cheap out on pots for the throttle and rudder. Then they don't bother updating their software to take advantage of features they advertise or even admit that the reversal bug is still an issue in the other axis.
Why can they make a cheap joystick that's great, a racing wheel that's flawless and will last longer than most people's pets, but when they have a chance to really stick it to their high-end competition with a hotas setup that has everything they crap the bed?

Stick is only FF. Rudder/Throttle no FF

Thats what you get, when the pea-counters rule!!!

Happy new toy mate.
I've got all 'global device settings' on 75% with centring spring enabled and also at 75%.
This seems to work fine for me with all my 'game profiles' also set at 75% within the profiler software on all settings.
My stick also buzzes, so I'm glad yours does too! It also kicks around a lot on computer start-up. :)
I suppose keys are a bit of a personal preference thing, but for Cliffs I've got the front wheel on the throttle for mixture, front two buttons for engine 1 and engine 2, side wheel for prop pitch, side top button engine start, lower button select all engines. I've got the gear and flaps mapped to the top pov stick on the throttle also. Not found a use for the lower hat switch yet. The buttons on the base are currently rad open and close x 2, toggle carb heat x 2 and fuel toggle x 2, but maybe this is a waste.
Moving to the stick, the trims are, well, the trims, S1, S2 and S3 are for arming bombs, opening doors and bomb drop, I'm saving 'fire' for the extinguisher! The switch under your little finger is handy for brakes on Brit a/c and I've got the thumbswitch doing the F10 cursor on/off function. Both hat switches aren't used yet on the stick.
The rudder is obviously rudder and brakes r + l.
I had a bad software issue at first as you may remember, but this is now sorted and the stick is as smooth and responsive as I could want in all sims/games. Now I just have to get used to it all over again.
Have fun!

The pinkie-switch is most useful as a layer-switch, imo, when pressed every button and switch can have a second function.
i.e. p4 on the throttle starts the bomb automatic, pinkie & P4 opens the Bombbay, and so on.
You really dont need the keyboard anymore

G940 user here too, but only the stick. I did not like the rudders (went back to saitek as I prefer the wider stance and throw), and went back to my X52 pro throttle for CoD.
I'm a bit of a 'hoarder' of sticks and have a CH Fighterstick, Combat stick, modded Cougar and MSFFB2.......I prefer the G940 stick over all of them. In terms of precision (most important to me) it is at least equal if not better than them all IMO.
Make sure as mentioned you have the latest firmware update. MikkOwl is worth getting in touch with too, clever lad who knows his beans. Just do a forum search then PM him, I'm sure he'll help you out he's a good guy. :)
Though I love the stick, I don't think I could in good conscience recommend the package overall at full price, especially with only a 1 year warranty. I got a good deal through Dabs UK which gave me an 'extended' 2 year warranty. I would not have bought it otherwise given the Logitech rep for breaking swiftly. After seven months of use, the throttle 'rotary spiking' issue surfaced (very common), but I got a swift replacement.
If the rotary spike issue happens post warranty, there is a very easy fix involving the small movement of a data cable. If I can do it in 15 mins, then so can you. :) I'll try to dig out a thread explaining how when I have time, but its very easy. Not that you should have to do it anyway, its a design flaw, but still.
A year and a half on, the stick is still fine *fingers crossed*, and I use settings very similar to Dutch.....everybody is different however of course. the key is 'Spring effect strength' as I remember, for stiffness/looseness ( I disable centering in the control panel like in IL-2, but there is still centering present).
I am hoping that 1C allow for the changing of the autocannon confi setting, as I find the 109 cannons to be too overwhelming (as well as unrealistic) which can make aiming a pain. In IL-2, you could remove the effect altogether (by either renaming the file or removing it) but I have not been able to do so in CoD. Please fix devs. ;)
I also have an issue where there is no FFB present at the start of a mission, until I move the stick around for a while through its range of motion, then it 'kicks in'. Anyone else get this? If so, please fix this too devs, I doubt I'm the only one.
Cheers.

I confirm Orv, there does seem to be a delay there that isn't present with other sims, but I've just learned to expect it so it ain't so bad.
Be nice for it to be fixed at some point though.;-)

Is the Logitech G6940 a good stick?
Depends: Some have it and have no problems with it and love it, some others have it, have lots of problems with it and love/hate it.
Use the forum search on "G940" and visit the Forum of Logitech (http://forums.logitech.com/t5/PC-Gaming/bd-p/pcgaming). Expert Posters on that subject are MikkOwl, MasterTec, .... That should give you a good impression.

I got mine recently and have no problems. Works like a charm, I have no profile as of yet, I just set my keys in game atm because I am extremely lazy and wanted to use it right away without 2 hours of setting it up .

Mine is and has worked flawlesly..I just mapped buttons in game.
Don't know how to get the mode switch working though so I've only got the 1 lot of buttons to map and not 3..
Tried numerous times to map in profile but with no luck so I gave up...plenty of buttons for a ww2 sim though

Hi. Don't use it as a joy button, but as a keyboard shortcuts. If you are using a keystroke settings (profiler menu - Device - Select default - Throttle or joy), the mode selector will work.
