I am looking for some help on the following attachments. When I was stationed in Guam, I picked up a trio of prints by Nicolas Trudgian commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Unfortunatly, the evil dictator (read:ex-wife) got rid of my Spitfire and Hurricane prints, but I was able to save the ME-109.
Anyhow, I looked for the Jagdgeschwader that these planes would have been part of and can't find any matches. Also, a skin of these would be so cool to have. The picture hangs in my office (read:closet that the current wife lets me keep my computer in).

JG3 I think is the place you need to start.
Black 8' from 2./JG 3
The emblem is a Tatzelwurm.

Taken form a post of Osrams over at SimHQ:
A JG (JagdGeschwader) is subdivided into three Gruppe s named I and II and III. Each contains 3 staffels but they are counted sequentially, IOW
I. Gruppe contains 1,2,3
II. Gruppe contains 4,5,6
III. Gruppe contains 7,8,9

During the Battle of Britain the Tatzelwurm marking was used by I./JG3 and it was in staffel color so 1./JG3 had a white one, 2./JG3 used a red one and 3./JG3 used a yellow one.
As soon as the game has a Bf109E-4 I'll be making some skins with these markings, but I've also got one coming for the Bf109E-3.
It's really a cool marking!

Hats off to you guys. I really appreciate the help and information. I had looked up each fighter unit in the order of battle but for JG3 only found the following 6423
I am sure I could have done a bit more research, but there aren't enough hours in the day it seems.... I have stared at that print for 21 years and always wondered who it was. I look forward to seeing those skins when you get the time. Thank you both again for the time you took and will take.
After lots of clicking and frustration I found this. All were emblems used by JG3 over the course of the war.6427Left to right
