recently, I've invested in an X52pro flight control system and I must say it's a great piece of hardware. Yet I'm still struggling to get convenient settings with its myriard of possibilities - especially with respect to the M(ultifunctional)F(light controller)D(isplay) and its adjacent switches.
The controller works fine, no problems so far, but all I've been able to get to show on the MFD are the generic standard data - i.e. time, profile and mode status.
I've found out that there are more possibilities for the MFD. There is an FSX plug-in that gets it to show useful in-game data. And now I wonder if it's possible to show ingame-date in CoD as well or/and if somebody has already made such a plug-in ready for consumption for the X52pro-newbies.
What would be great is that if I could get throttle, pitch, mixture-settings to show on the MFD - or something else that is of use. Also, am I able to re-assign the axes and switches directly below the MFD (used by default for MFD brightness settings etc) to custom needs? Maybe one of the wheels for prop pitch, flaps etc... just something more useful.
hoping for help by the X52pro-pros & thanks in advance!

I have one 2 and it works very well. I haven't even messed with creating any profiles for it yet.

There was some work done over at Saitek forums some time ago for IL2, the thread below may be worth checking out.

hmm that looks a little bit more complex than I had anticipated. I think I'll meditate about this for a bit
Thanks for now!
The MFD will display the name or descriptions of your key asssignments. It is simple to do using the SST software that is usually installed along with the drivers using the Saitek installation CD.
1. Make a note of the keyboard controls and any that you have added in the CoD options - controls interface.
e.g Start Engine = I
2. Launch SST and it will recognise your X52 if its plgged in.
3. Press the key on your joystick that you want to assign as 'engine start'.
4. SST will take you to the cell in which you can enter 'I' by just hitting the 'I' Key on your keyboard.
5. The cell has a descriptor that you edit i.e., 'engine start'.
6. Repeat for all other functions you want on your X52 and name each cell with an appropriate descriptor.
7. Name and save your profile.
8. At the bottom of your screen will be an icon for your X52, click on it and all your profiles will be shown, select the one you have created for CoD and when you press a button on your stick the descriptor you gave will appear in your MFD along with the profile name.
9. OK, now create profiles for IL946 and whatever else you may have, name and save them. Jobe done.......

yes, that's the common configuration for joystick keys not directly recognized in-game. However, I (we) want the MFD to show something else.

Just found this the other day, and hoped this might (bump this thread) inspire someone that knows wtf they're doing to create something for the COD "Ground pounders" (perhaps maybe even something for fighters).
Have a look at what this guy has done for IL2 with his MFD here --> http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=ForumsPro&file=viewtopic&t=14541
Here's a sample pic (one of many)

I love my x52 pro. It would be cool if someone could create a program for the MFD to display TAS for bombing, similar to what is shown above.

I have used both IL2 Extension for X52Pro and X52Pro_Tool IL2 + V1.00 for IL2 1946.
Get IL2 Extension here> http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=11887
and
X52Pro tool here > http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=19773
IL2 Extension is older and has some instrument readings that the newer one doesnt by default but you can add a lot more. The newer X52pro tool can also control the joystick LEDs based on aircraft warnings and settings.. ie gear up / down - engine overheat etc. Further info available on X52pro tool here including english language translation > http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,19577.12.html?PHPSESSID=8d5ae1de0a4215320ba1 51b370b71217
Havent played with the newer one much but they both still work fine in 4.11 and all older versions of IL2 1946. I dont think you can use them both at the same time though!
For IL2 Extension you need to copy directoutput.dll to the correct folder if using Win 7 64bit. I left instructions for this on the last page of the thread i linked to above.
Havent tried anything for CLOD yet as Im not aware there is anything out there for CLOD yet.

I love my x52 pro. It would be cool if someone could create a program for the MFD to display TAS for bombing, similar to what is shown above.
There is a program for the Logitech g15/g19 that has bomb calc stuff in it. Ive not used it because im not a ground pounder! ;)
Its called G15_IL21.22 available here > http://sebcanaud.free.fr/Perso/FB/G15_IL2/
It has a lot of the same features as the IL2 Extension i mentioned above except it runs on the G13/G15/G19 logitech keyboard displays. This is the one I like the most. Along with IL2G15Score from http://mhondoz.net/il2g15/
and G15 Manager (eventlog viewer) from http://combatace.com/index.php?automodule=downloads&showfile=2013
There's also a IL2 bombsight table for G13/G15/G19 at http://www.logitechusers.com/completed-sdk-created-lcd-applets/index4.html
Sorry its not for X52 but the Logitech displays are pretty cool. I usually run IL2 extension on the X52 and these others above on the Logitech G13 and G19 I have.

I was about to start a thread about the X52 modes in CoD. I have made an in game profile and avoided making one in SST thinking it would not be recognized.. I would like to use the SST and make a multimode profile outside the game reducing the number of keyboard strokes I need using only mode 1. Modes 2 and 3 would be a great help. Any thoughts, anyone tried this? I am getting deeper into the sim and need the speed of the buttons rather than using multifinger key presses. Many Thanks.

Hi:
I've just released a new version v1.05 of the 'IL+X52pro_Tool'.
You don't need anymore to introduce your local IP.
