Plays nicely for me, with everything maxed out. I play at a modest 1280x720 tho' to match my video projector.

High FPS- no freezes or CTDs on my end. The game was released before it was finished so it will be awhile before all the features are present and working. In the mean time I'm enjoying navigating, the CEM that works, shooting at aircraft and ground targets.

Generally working well for me too, apart from the occasional bugs (which are by now well documented by the community so that the developers can fix them, plus i've found work-arounds for quite a few of them) on a respectable but definitely not top of the line PC which is two years old.
I have a low amount of RAM and an older GPU (powerful enough but with a lower amount of VRAM than current cards) so i'm running mostly medium settings with the exception of model detail and land shading which are set to high. SSAO is off, but roads, shadows and Vsync are on.
I'm running a resolution of 1680x1050 (monitor native resolution) on a 22" Dell 2209 WA IPS panel, the rest of my specs are:
Asus P6T Deluxe motherboard
i7 920 (the early C0 stepping) @ 2.7 Ghz (the stock speed)
3GB of DDR3 RAM in triple channel configuration
Msi Cyclone Ati 4890 1GB
win7 Pro 64 bit
I get anywhere from 30-50+ FPS depending on the amount of things going on over balanced terrain (still over land, but not when skimming the rooftops over London), with occasional dips to 25 or so when a lot of stuff needs to be suddenly loaded. This is with the well documented Ati issues and after having renamed the Ubi logo to stop it from playing during launch, so that the GPU drivers don't "lock" it into flash video mode that runs lower clock speeds.
I expect that if up the RAM a bit it will help with the loading pauses (which still doesn't qualify as a continuous stutter, just momentary FPS loss when it needs to suddenly load a bunch of textures, after they're loaded it's smooth for the remainder of the mission) as 3GB is a bit on the borderline: 800MB to 1GB for the OS, which leaves less than the 2.8 GB that the sim can currently utilize.
If we get a 64-bit executable to make the sim utilize more RAM and i up my RAM to 6GB (another bank of 3GB in triple channel) i expect it will see massive improvement, as it will be possible to load textures into RAM and swap them to and from the GPU a lot faster. Maybe i'll even be able to turn up a couple of settings in this case since it will be easier to swap them in/out of the VRAM without loading from the hard drive.

High fps, no freezes etc, some random stutters here and there + usual ATI blue lines but overall plays very nicely. Everything on max settings, 1920x1200.

From a technical point of view, yes for me. Maxed out all, except "forests" on high.
Only graphical glitch is the not so good AA.
P.D. I recommend to the Nvidia users deactivate the "green" option.
My system:
Windows 7 Professional 64 Bits
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz
Sabertooth P67 + 6,00 GB DDR3 667MHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580

Plays well for me, everything on 'High' at 1920 x 1080. Blue stripes are the only issue.

I suggest you (the first one posting the question) to take a ride in the forum.
There are still big problems, moreover in the multiplayer, in FM's, Single player campaign etc etc. Despite of the game's system requirements showed, you need still a very good one to play in a smooth way.
We all are hoping that they are going to solve everything with their hard work, but still there are alot of problems.

Tony, how much improvement did your change of GPU give you?

On the "Manage 3D settings" page, go to "Power management feature" and force to "prefer maximun performance" instead of "Adaptative".
This recommendation is due because I feel that AA in game is related somewhat with the smoothness of the scene; In my opinion, the game shuts down AA if the framerates are poor; This could be the explanation for the fact that some people here don“t see AA , while others only appreciate "x2 AA", besides a third group that is already happy....So, the more the power of your card, the better the AA...
...well, I think....

moved from a core2Duo with GTX260 videocard to my new rig (see sig). Really happy with how it plays on this rig. SSD makes a huge difference.
Also I've gotta complement the team on their rendition of water. Keep finding myself gazing at how realistic it looks (waves etc)

Seems to me that most that are posting systems that run the sim well have, at least, a 3+ghz processor, 6+gb DDR 3 memory, good Nvidia vid card, and Win 7 64 bit.
mine: 3.4 ghz Phenom-quad, 470 Nvidia, 6 gb 1333 ddr 3 mem, win 7 64 bit home, gigabyte mobo.
Since I went to win 7, I had xp, the sim has run great pretty much maxed out with only a couple things set at medium settings.

Very high settings except building detail to med (Luthier posted that quality drop is very mild and it saves a lot of fps) 1920x1200 AA 2x
Very happy with performance here.

Been running the Steam version (no beta patches) for 2 weeks now. Everything runs very smoothly circa 60fps. Even over London it's smooth and enjoyable, no glitchyness or stutters or anything like that. My heart goes out to others who have been having a bad time of it, only hope their experience gets to the level of mine.
Still a few annoying bugs though, such keyboard failing to function correctly, pixelated rear view mirror (when there is one) etc. Having witnessed UBI's approach to releases and patches such the debacle of Silent Hunter 5, my only real fear is UBI will pull the plug on patch development before IL2 Cod reaches the lofty heights of IL2 1946. Oh well, we shall see...
