I'm looking for book recommendation on WWII fighter performance and testing. Books along the lines of Americas hundred thousand, wings of the luftwaffe. Any suggestions welcome.

Vee's for Victory if you are into Allison engines, has specs of the Allisons.

The Maru series for Japanese stuff.

Putnam - Japanese Aircraft of the Pacific War for general history and specs., seems fairly accurate

The Australian War Memorial has an online document service, you can spend hours searching there for actual in service data on RAAF planes and their engines, I have found lots of core data there.

Other than that I buy the manuals & I buy engine data sheets for P&W etc.

Not many 'books' worth the money where core data is concerned, less the above of course. Even then these books authors take some licence to interpret data. I have found a few small errors in AHT when compared with blueprint data etc, nothing major. Usually linked to using original documents that were hard to read OR where the plane was altered during production after the first model tests.

Hope it helps.
