In the past few days a problem has developed which has left the spitfire totally unflyable within cliffs of dover. I fly with complex engine management off as i find manual control of the engine too difficult.
In both the campaign and single/quick missions the throttle quadrant shows the mixture, throttle and pitch at 100% immediatly after takeoff. At this point the RPMs average about 29 on the indicator and the Spitfire has plently of power.
However the problem occurs when you get in the air, roughly 2 mins after entering the aircraft. Whether it be in campaign or single mission, the pitch suddenly changes from 100% to 0% with no warning and saps all power from the engine. From this point, even with full throttle is applied, the RPMs drop to around 19 on the indicator and it can barely keep itself in the air.
The hurricane is flyable but seems to keep 0% mixture and 100% pitch when full throttle is applied
I have tried manually changing pitch and mixture to resolve these problems but there is no responce (maybe becasue i dont have complex management selected?)
As far as the other aircraft go, the 109, which i have no problems with, always has a minimum pitch of about 50% even when no throttle is applied and is more than flyable
i belive there is another post in this forum with a similar problem
Is this a known problem?, am i doing something wrong? or is this how it is supposed to be, any input in these matters would be extremly helpful...
