Still no servers for me ingame, i tried refreshing several times, and all filters are at "Doesnt matter".

Also i used direct connect and found a server, i could choose plane and loadout but i could NOT get in the game, there was simply no "FLY" button.

First Choose a Side.... Red/Blue
Second Choose a Airfield...
Third Click the airfield again to get a plane... don't know what they were thinking...
Forth.. On the right of the screen there is a scroll down slide... it does not stand out... slide to the bottom and hit fly... again what where they thinking...

Does the problem that the vga doesn't clocks up to 3D mode affect nv users too? it's a wierd issue, maybe the drivers should be also improved.

What are your settings, what conf.ini changes have you made? Your ststem should run this game pretty well I would think. What FPS are you getting? If you post information, people with similar setups will help you.. complaining won't really fix it :)

I'm less concerned about the graphics at the moment and concentrating more on how to get a merlin to run fast without blowing it up- this CEM is HARD!

Which aircraft? To be honest I have not found the full CEM too much hard work.

Mix, rad and prop pitch is all you need to fiddle with and by watching the colour of the exhaust stacks it's pretty easy to gauge your mix. Keep props below 3000rpm and temp around 80 and you are fine.

Turn off the Epilepsy Filter and you'll get much better performance.

In game settings turn video settings to HIGH then UNCHECK Shadow, and Grass I unchecked roads only because some of them are floating on the map. I'm running at 1920X1200 and I get 60-65 fps smooth in the bomber intercept mission with the Hurricane and the He111's when I initially start it. I've also try at various settings of FSAA.. I honestly cannot see any big visual improvement at my resolution so I leave it low of off. I would turn IN Anist Filtering in the controls of your video card, 8X or better gets rid of the graphica issues with visible tile seams and lines on the horizon. If you fly offline mostly I'd install the MOD from Kegety for now, it gives me almost 100% improvement in FPS from 60>>>>110 at my resolution and detail settings. If you mainly fly online it will need to be turned off each time..

I think you'll find a lot of people that have played this game series for a LONG time are willing to help, but the "If I don't get what I want I'm going to take my ball and go home" attitude isn't going to win you are sympathy here

tried that one... no shadows make the image looks stark with no real improvement in stutter, except for buildings @ Low Detail and Low amount of.

basically stutters came when over buildings, even with trees @ 3 or -1

oh yeah...

turn shadows off... sim says to restart... after restart and at desktop for a few seconds

I have a powerful system i7975@3.9, gtx580 6gigs ddr3. Patch has increased fps slightly but has improved stuttering significantly. I am playing at 1680x1050. Models landscape effects decals high land shading medium shadows on all other settings low no trees,roads or grass. Clouds on. I am very pleased with post patch performance. I see very wide differences in performance between systems with similar specs. However, I am increasingly confident that the game will be sorted out for all with time. After 10years with il 2 I was anxious to get this sim. I recall that il2 had it's share of teething problems. I think that putting together a program of this depth and complexity is an enormous achievement. With so few titles in this area, much less sims with high quality fm,w etc, I am very pleased that this development team is still committed to providing a first class product.

Tried that,dont do anything for me tbh,however this game does seem to work better on ati cards,thanks for helping anyhow.

I have waited since last friday that the patch would show on Steam. I am from the Netherlands and have my region also set on the Netherlands......no patch

On which region is the patch available on steam ?

I'm in Kaaskopland as well ;-) For me the Steam patches were available Friday night aand the moment I started, it started to download the patch right away.

I'm having the same problem as others here. My IL-2 won't update, everything seems to be set correctly.

It's not a region issue, as I have changed it a couple times and it still doesn't work. :(

Any help will be appreciated.

After installing that patch, people experiencing fps and stutter improvement but from the other side many more launcher.exe crashes and network problems. I got boost in performance but my game is crashing now much more often, for example I start game hit single player quick mission and until I change aircraft types I got my game crashed while loading, that was happening ealier on but so frequent, there is many more bugs sand problems bit I am real surprised that Your update was so quick, thanks for that...can't wait until You sort out multiplayer...

Thanks for the Patch guys. I am running at 40 to 50 fps. Everything on medium except models and Decals on High. Sim looks good. Now if I could only figure out Engine management I will be in buisness. I turned both of these off and had me a BALL!!!

The FPS is slightly higher than before. Still unplayable at 1920x1080 at whatever setting (low fps max 40 over water, 20 london, heavy stutters). At 1600x900 significantly better. Playabe at medium settings...low over a small town around 30-35 fps, london cca 20-27, water 50-60.
But, again whatever settings the stutter especially low over land is significant but less pronounced. Low/high settings dont do much difference, with high it is slightly worse.

THE BIGGEST ISSUE...nvidia control pannel cant see the sim, so I cant try to set anything (especially AA and AF and vertical synchronisation)

THE GPU is rarely at full power (only in london at 1920x1080 and high settings. usually around 53%max)

THE CPU is also somewhere 20 - 30% max (even the first core doesnt come more than 50). Seems the game isnt utilising even one core.

Affinitymask to 14 helped a little with fps/stutter, but the cpu isnt going higher

I have aero switched off...just in case, because i didnt see much difference

I use the first 2 series nvidia drivers (257.xx?). Did you people see better results with newer drivers? (did it help with nvidia control pannel?)

Also the logitech G940 manager cant seem to recognize the game. The centering force sometimes works and sometimes not.

I use Freetrack and all FPS was recorded by fraps.
Tested with tiger moth free flight over england.

My rig:
i5-450 oc 4GHz
4GB RAM 1600 7-7-7-24
GTX480 stock (1,5GB)
SSD AHCI mode for WIN 7 64b Enterprise
Another SSD IDE mode for sims (IDE mode made a big difference in stutters not only in il2 but also A-10)
Pagefile on WD caviar green i dont remember 4 or 6 GB

Try to overclock the GPU let's say by 1 MHz, maybe it will run then at full speed. Lot of ATI users reported such behaviour. I can try it myself later, after US release I'll gonna buy the sim too. Lets hope this will be sorted till End of April! :)

There's many reasons as to why this wasn't implemented before launch, one of which might be time/budget-restraints. When those hit, compromises must be made. For all we know, that might have been one of them.

Your comparison is flawed. A car needs wheels to work, whereas a game isn't 100% dependant on having mulitcore-support to function.

in cockpit view, the (RPM, Speed, etc) gauge needles are rather bouncy... but in wonder woman view, they are all rock steady.

I'm not going to swear but has anybody who developed this sim bothered to explain when the 'next' patch is going to be released to fix the myriad of problems. Would be nice to actually know if they're as dedicated to fixing this thing than those who spend the money to buy it. I know there are many that will 'back' them up but surely they too must be wondering. If they are 'TELL US' when it's going to be FIXED.

There's many reasons as to why this wasn't implemented before launch, one of which might be time/budget-restraints. When those hit, compromises must be made. For all we know, that might have been one of them.



Your comparison is flawed. A car needs wheels to work, whereas a game isn't 100% dependant on having mulitcore-support to function.

I do not agree with you. Multicore support was obviously essential already a year ago when it was clear all computers were going to use multicore structures. On the other issue, I think the comparison is valid. So far the sim is unplayable because the aim of this sim is the multiplayer mode. So far is not possible.

I think they spend too much time and money in nice textures but the core of the game is the original IL2.

multicore or SLI (whichever one it was) support was inadvertently broken when the epilepsy filter was programmed in.....

Especially when there wat NOT any anti-epilepsy filter and if yes, it has NO effect or impact on game performance...

I have just upgraded my system from Windowa XP to Window 7 and increased my RAM from 3GB to 8GB - so have been 'off the air' for a few days? I am now running ver. 1.0.13954.

Today, I finally got back into the COD after a (1 day download from Steam? and 5 days getting the Windows set-up working?) - its a bit slower down in OZ??) and finally started flying the Hurricane. On the new system, I still had to 'dumb down' everything (graphics)? to get the whole thing working at a a reasonable FPS?

I am having problems getting 'ATI Catylist control centre' to work in 'Windows 7' ( I would like any thoughts on this?) so I don't think my video graphics are working at their best?

I have attached a 'jpeg' showing some of my graphic problems , now that I have upgraded? My graphics were better on my old XP system? Ilya, I think you have to quickly get the sim running effectively on '4 Cores' to get everything working properly - all members might have to eventually upgrade?

We'll be looking into this aggressively and by Monday should have either a hotfix or a rollback for the affected users. My apologies to everyone affected.

Has anyone seen any update since luthier posted last Friday? Just wondering what's going on.

They released what they are working on the day they released this patch.. last week.. SLI and Multi Core support were at the fore front.. Do a little looking and you will find what you are looking for..

Setting Anistropic Filtering to 8X or higher got rid of that for me...

Hey guys I have a question I was hoping someone could answer for me. I have been looking forward to the release of IL2 COD for a long time. When I heard that I could get it 2 weeks before the release in the US I jumped on it. I bought the game from justflight.com and they gave me an activation code for Steam. I know everyone is having problems with this game and I expected to have problems (wishful thinking told me that maybe I wouldn't).

The question I have is that I know the company is releasing updates for the game and I read that they are being released by Steam by region. Being that I have the game before the US release am I going to get the updates? I am currently running the 1.00.13954 version of the game.

I was also just told by Ubisoft technical support that because I bought a European version of the game that I will have problems getting updates, patches, and technical support with the game and that I should try to get a refund and get it when it comes out in the US. Is this true? I asked her what the difference would be since they are all just being bought through Steam and she said that because I would have a European IP that I would always have problems. Can anyone verify this or does she not know what she is talking about? I really appreciate you taking the time to clarify this for me. Thanks again.

Thats the right version, I don't think you should experience any problems, the patches are international only the russians have a standalone patch.

BUT I definitely would not contact steam, they might have given you a refund if it was pre-release but not now, especially if you didn't buy the game from steam in the first place ;).

Hey thanks for the response. Currently the game is unplayable on practically any settings, however I can play on medium settings over water. When I am over the water it will run and look great until the game puts the bombers on the screen, then it gets choppy and stutters alot. Do you think I should consider getting a new graphics card or wait until they release more updates? What I don't understand is that I can run Birds of Prey at max settings with no stutter and the graphics look better than this game on medium settings. Too bad that game is so unrealistic in how the planes stall. You have any experience with it? I am a Commercial Pilot and I do have time in high performance aircraft and I can tell you that no plane stalls as easy as that game shows. I wish we could get that games graphics with this games plane models. I really don't want to get a refund for the game, but I was worried that I would not get all of the updates.
