For some reason I cant get the game to see my CH stick/throttle/pedals in the controls options axes setup, I move the controller in the appropriate slot but nothing happens, so the game is not registering the controllers although I can fire my guns etc, Just the various axes are not responding.

Win XP 32 here at the moment. All works well in IL2-46.

I have tried various combinations of mapped mode/direct X/unmapped and OFF in the CH manager software, but no joy :(

in your c:\users\(name)\documents\1c soft\il2 folder look at your conf file and make sure

[rts]
tickLen=30
ProcessAffinityMask=3
maxTimerTicksInRealTick=20
; 0 - not use, 1 - show cursor and not capture, 2 - not show cursor, and capture
mouseUse=2
; 0 - not use, 1 - use if hardware exist
joyUse=1
; 0 - not use, 1 - use if hardware exist
trackIRUse=1
DisableIME=0
culture=en-GB

that is set right. if it is and it still doesn't work ... idk.

Double click your mouse in that slot and it opens a new window, it is there that you assign the controller.

OK thanks for your trouble, Steam is updating at the minute after an install of Win 7 x64 bit so once it finishes I'll check it out :0

OK I have that line ok in my conf., the game is not detecting the controllers.
I am going to re-install all the CH software and Hardware re-boot etc and see how it goes.
I suspect it might be something to do with Win 7 64 bit.

Just updated to Win 7 myself. You don't need CH Control Manager except if you use the MFP. Had me foxed for a while.

Obviously you do if you have compiled a map ;)

I'm watching this post with interest as I have exactly the same issue with my X52.

Nothing I do will get COD to recognise the Axis or Button inputs. Works fine in every other game.

Hope you find a fix ;)

I'm guessing its something silly that I haven't noticed or its my unfamiliarity with Win 7.

But no-one has an answer yet :(

Fair enough..but have you tried uninstalling CH control manager and seeing if the controllers are detected?

I assume you downloaded the latest CH control software for Win 7.

I have spent MANY hours installing/uninstalling booting/re-booting/closing down , ticking boxes/un-ticking boxes, I don't know now wether I'm coming or going.

The game isn't seeing the controllers, everything works fine in Il2 46, but I can't get CoD to see my axes... :(

||Which is a pity because even though I've a low end system, the game doesn't look bad and plays smoothly enough so far :)

Are you definately double clicking the axis assignment box/area and getting a second window to appear. Its when the second window appears that you move your axis to assign it. When you've got them all assigned hit apply, then go back into controls and hit save and give your mapping a file name that you can load up next time you start the game.

It's definitely a bug.

Guys, mine are working fine now although I'm not sure exactly what of a number of things I did worked, and the game still messEs things up now and then, BUT...

Apparently the fix requires you to reinstall the game itself along with CHCM being sure to have Administrator rights when you do. I saw a link on todays update thread that has instructions but I'm posting from my phone right now so look for yourselves and good luck!
