Zoom button on Sim mode?

I haven't found the zoom on my aviator yet (PS3)

... and I guess there isn't any. It is so usefull on the "tiger hunt" mission.
But the zoom is present on the thrustmaster config.

in simulator, the L2 Button is the zoom.

Sorry, we meant 'Wireless Controller Aviator' config!

I think it would be good if say R3 acted as a shift button. So the D-pad had 4 commands, then 4 more whilst holding R3. That would free up an extra 3 buttons for flaps, landing gear etc - stuff that's only really needed at the start and end of a sortie.
