Really enjoy flying in this game. Much appreciation to the devs for capturing the feeling of being alone in the sky in fighter, surrounded by an air battle.

Though the picture was a bit bright for my setting and the game feels like it opens up much better with the sensitivity at half rather than full. Love the detail and this most definitely assured me getting this awesome game

One bit I didnt like was that the cockpit view would recenter to the gunsight when trying to land. I would like to have speed and altiude, climb/sink meters in view in that phase. Re-adjusting the view could quickly reduce engine power when the intent was to lower the view. Minior gripe tho.

Realistic mode was quite hard, I got my behind kicked by a Stuka, oh the shame. Getting "out-dogfighted" by a dive bomber, I kept stalling/spinning out of controll.

The first time I came up on a heavy bomber, I immediately took some rounds into my engine and the canopy got covered in oil...That was a wake up call.

Just finished downloading and playing the demo on my PS3.

Awesome job Anton! Thanks to you and your development team! The demo is wonderful. I can't believe there is a WW2 flight game of this high quality on a console!!! I will be buying BoP on the day of it's release....

Hello to all of you, i just have to post my impression of the demo, other then that i will be mostly lurking around.
PS: Don´t mind my spelling i am german.

Graphic:
Looking great, the view, overall look of the game, even close to the ground, the detail is unbelievable for a console game.
1080p upscaling on the ps3, there are not many games out there that run this resolution.
I did not notice any frame drops at all.
The visuell effects are breathtaking. Oil on the cockpit window, smoke trails from planes, wow. Great job to the devs!
Downside:
Shadows look very ugly sometimes in cockpit view. This seems to be a ps3 problem, since a lot of games suffer from edgy looking shadows.

Tearing: There is some noticable tearing going on, esp. when you use the freelook in cockpit.
I play on a 42" with a high quality HDMI Cabel, so its a game problem.
Hope this is fixed in the final game, very disturbing.

Sound: Fantastic, the 5.1 is really adding to a intense battle experience

Gameplay: I will skip arcade mode and get straight to realism.
The game gets here allready very challenging.
Playing with a pad starts to give you a hard time.

I could not find a way to change the button layout of the controller, hope this is possible in the final game. The way the button layout is right now, is not optimal.
But i got my flightstick just ordered for this game.

Sim Mode. This is where its happening. Wow, it actually feels like flying.
I really crashed more then a few times in this mode, but it is so rewarding if you manage to controll the plane, and don´t constantly stall (which happens more then enough- i just suck!).
It is very hard to spot targets, i was busy checking the map and my surroundings.
I really got a feeling to be part of a battle going on around me in the skys.
Awesome!
Thanks to the devs for finally having the guts to bring out a game which feels like a flight simulator.
I know that PC Gaming offers more (i been playing flight sims since my days with the C64), but this is as close as it gets.
Great job to the devs, i hope this sells, since many people don´t even know about this game!
Promo here was/is not good, thats sad. Hope people get into the game through downloading the demo.

PS: Thx for bringing Cockpit Views for german planes in future DL.

Again thank you thank you thank you, hope it sells a lot!

Guys,

I read this forum for a while and I waited for BoP since I heared the first announcements, I watched every video and now I have to say:

Thank you Anton! BoP is a manifestation for me on the PS3. After 30 years of computer and console playing (with some timeout), this is what I really dreamed of. Historically correct as possible, it feels right, it looks awesome, realistic and the demo was jaw dropping. Additionaly it is playable quite easy in arcade to begin with and not to loose the fun in the first minute.

No I can´t wait until the 4th of september and been wondering where I can find the time to play.

Thank you guys!

Stefan

Dear Anton,

I just wanted to join the rejoicement by the other guys!

Anton, you and the crew did a marvellous job in creating this masterpiece.

For us who love WW2 planes and history, this is simply fantastic!

I just had time to play a little last night and I got up early this morning (before work) but I have followed the dev, this forum and waited for this game since the news broke. The sensation of pressing the 'start' button for the first time on this game was like celebrating x-mas when I was 5 years old!

May this game sell shitloads!!!

To all you aces out there: Tell all your friends about this game!

Thank you!

It does look amazing.

The font size for the speed and height are a bit small and white on slightly less white at times is a nuisance. I don't want to fly upside down just so I can read it against the green fields of England! A nice white with black outline the size of the subtitles that appear on the right when the wingman talks to you would have been more useful.

Ok, gripe over. Everything else is just a delight.

I have only played arcade mode so far as I have only had an hour to play it in total, but I really like the controls and how they feel. Turning with that gentle nudge of rudder and the sights float over the target, a two second blast and it's on to the next target.

Bliss!
